The most wonderful location on top of a hill overlooking the sea at Mirleft, built around an old fortress. You should have a 4x4 to get there safely!! It must have been fabulous when first developed by Jean-Francois and my partner said it was the most romantic place for a tryst, so.... Well, its tired now... and pricey considering the state of the rooms and the somewhat slapdash service. We sent some washing but the shirts came back folded but not ironed! Certainly worth a visit for the ambience and the pool and the delicious food and the views. Just don't expect too much. The newer rooms show less wear and tear and are less costly than the older suites. mountain

Room Tip: ask to see whats available and if you are able-bodied the new rooms are good.

We booked two nights and stayed four because the hotel was so beautyful and the staff so kind and helpful. The best is M. Hassan. They organised excursions for us and helped us with everything we needed. It is a great location on the top of the hill overlooking the small charming city Mirleft and the sea. The rooms are well decorated in Morrocan style and have nice terrasses to the mountain or to the sea. Over the bed you find a real blanket not an old woolen blanket and in the colder nights someone of the staff makes fire in your private chimney. The pool is heated which was very good for our little daughter. Also they offer free Wifi in the public rooms - quite importang. The food was really delicious a mix between French and Morrocan kitchen. We really felt like a guest and not like a client - this makes a big difference. And we would like to come back soon.

This is a marvellous place to spend a few days! set in a French fortress built in the 1930's, the fabric of the original building had been entirely respected whilst creating a comfortable and welcoming hotel. The rooms and suites are gigantic, the views of the coast are spectacular, the swimming pool is lovely. Above all, the staff are so attentive and efficient and the FOOD IS SUPERB.

This part of Morocco is very little visited despite the beauty of the coastline and the historical interest of the old Spanish colony of Ifni. The roads are good. Les 3 Chameaux is a good enough reason to visit.

We stayed two nights as a realxing break between long road journies and it was one of the highlights of our holiday. The restored fort has a wonderful setting with a view over the Atlantic breakers and the village on the seaward side and to the mountains inland. The atmosphere is one of quiet informal comfort in surroundings made beautiful by bouganvillia and other lovely shrubs and roses. There is an excellent swimming pool. The rooms are large, cool and comfortably but simply furnished. The food, with breakfast on the terrace and dinner in the small dining room, was excellent and a definite highlight. Jean-Francois and his staff were all welcoming and attentive.

The village is very pleasant in a low-key way and the former Spanish enclave of Sidi Ifni is a short drive away and well worth a visit.

Room Tip: We chose a suite near the main building, room number one. Some of the rooms are small and some way a...

This is a converted 1935 French border fort. The rooms are simple but we found them comfortable (bed and pillow slightly firm for our taste) and large. We stayed in a suite which as lonely planet says seemed better value than the rooms. It was certainly spacious and with a distant sea view (although reatively small windows so not really significant). The rooms seem to face inland to the hills and looked a good size too. No airconditioning and no insect screens but neither were needed when we were there at all.
The food was generally good, although at the end of the week we were there it got very quiet and yoghurt and pain aux chocolat disappeared from the breakfast menu leaving toast and crepes + excellent coffee and orange juice and fruit. The evening meal offered a choice of 3 main dishes (except on the last evening when it was 2), usually a tagine a meat dish and fried fish. Became a bit repetitive by the end of a week so if staying full week probably worth having some meals in town.
The location is great. Set up on a hill overlooking the town but a short walk down to the centre. A bit far to walk to the beach especially if hot. Car hire essential we would have thought (and main roads fine). The down is dusty and relaxed and largely hassle free. No much tarmac in evidence. There seemed to be several places to eat that would have been fine. Some nice walks into the hills behind the hotel. The pool would be a real bonus when hot. Good place to lounge in November but only one of us thought the water warm enough to actually get in (23deg c)
The service was friendly and generally attentive, with some of the staff speaking a litttle englsh. The great majority of the guests seemed to be french so most things are geared to this. Hammam with body scrub and massage for 350 dirham was very good.
We found the weather almost pefect (Nov 12th-19th) but I think we were quite lucky as a bit hotter than usual, and there were some windy days and one day of sea mist (head inland). Sidi Ifni and Tiznit are easy day trips.

We spent 1 night at Les 3 Chameaux and were blown away by the views and the solitude of the place. The hotel is an old french fort, and looks tired and worn, with both the rooms and the pool in dire need of some TLC, but despite this the location and the friendly staff more than compensated. The rooms are huge, although we found the glass shelves and flatscreen TV's to be totally at odds with the overall feel of the place.
In the bathrooms the shower attachment did not have a fixing on the wall, and the water sprayed absolutely everywhere!! The evening meal we had was absolutely amazing and staff were attentive and helpful throughout. We would agree however with the previous comment that for the price being charged, breakfast was very unimaginative and lacking in variety. The hotel is just a short drive from the beautiful beaches of Merleft and is an ideal location to explore the beautiful local area. Alternatively it is a great spot to just switch off and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains.

After our experiences at Ksar Massa, we were delighted to find this place & decided to extend our stay here. Superb location, great staff, a very helpful owner, enormous rooms and the food was superb, especially the fresh fish!

Breakfast could and should be better at €5 pp.

The pool (heated in winter) offered a really comfortable corner with comfortable loungers (on one side) but let down by the shaded area where the matresses were tired.

The sitting rooms were very well appointed and comfortable with the added advantage of a customer PC for emails as well as wi-fi on the front terrace of the main building.

Great views in all directions (when the summer sea mist lifts) and benefits from the sea breeze.

The bedroom (very clean) had lots of space and the water always hot. The rooms would benefit from fans as well as bottled water & flowers. The bed was really comfortable with good linen.

The owner has taken much trouble to create a quality place and one that we certainly will return to. A 5/5.
