Stayed with spouse and daughter at Proximity for 2 nights. Picked it because of the reviews and the LEED certification; wanted to see what that would be like. It is a very nice, comfortable hotel. However, I found a couple things a little disconcerting/aggravating. The first thing I noticed is how dark it is. I am sure this is because of the energy conservation; however, the hallways are very dim and the room keys are not obviously marked. I struggled several minutes to get into the room while loaded down w/ bags. While I was with family, I am always conscious of safety since I often travel alone for business; I would not like the dim lighting from a safety perspective. The room and bathroom were very comfortable, nicely decorated, a little bit drab, not much warmth to the decor. Not much of a view given the location, although it is a nice area in Greensboro. I found the use of curtains as barriers in the room and restaurant interesting. I liked the "living room" in the center of the hallway with water and the honor refrigerator. One other surprise was the speed of the elevator, which can be good or bad depending on whether you are waiting or trying to grab it.
We had dinner at the Print Bistro, a little pricey, but delicious food. It is quite beautiful, the ambience is relaxing and classy.

A great concept hotel that misses on some of the staff efforts and furnishings. The hotel is different in design but pretty cool. Filtered water cooler on every floor and a modern motif throughout. The bed was dreadful. It sunk in the middle like a crevasse. Really uncomfortable. Our room a/c and heater malfunctioned for 3 days. The thermostat and fan would only work on max speed and so you had hot or cold full blowing air at one temperature. We had maintenance up one night and he tried, but was going to turn the issue over to the day shift. Nothing happened for 3 days and many excuses were offered. In other areas the staff was friendly and welcoming. This place needs a little polish for the staff and updating of the beds and could be really special.

Room Tip: Higher Floor a Must

This hotel is unique in that it is LEED certified and totally enjoyable. Plus it is visually stunning
at every turn while being thoughtful in every detail. The staff friendly and easy to talk with.
I only had breakfast in my room one day, but I can not imagine a better breakfast in the world.
I cannot wait to go back to Proximity!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We’re thrilled to hear that you appreciated our architectural design, along with our sustainability initiative. If you find time during your next stay, we suggest that you make your way down to the restaurant. We think you’ll really appreciate the design of that space (and it’s a great excuse to enjoy another breakfast with us!).

The Proximity Hotel is #1 for sustainable practices. It was snowing when I arrived and I was concerned with Solar Panel heating for a hot shower. Although the hotel uses 50% less energy than other hotels this was not a problem. Guest room designs are sleek and beautiful. Love the western view from the Hotel. Windows as tall as the ceilings offer beautiful natural light. Spacious bathroom was stocked with Aveda products. In room Coffee maker had delicious hot tea and coffee. Water Each floor had filtered hot and chilled water and ice bar. The highlight was Print Works Bistro. Dinning room and bar is absolutely beautiful. Food was stunningly delicious, don't miss the cream of cauliflower soup with white truffle oil! From the stunning aesthetics to the finely crafted meals, when in Greensboro, this is the place to stay and dine.

Room Tip: Western view overlooks stream and open park area.

Thank you so much for your wonderful words! We love that you noticed the effect that our large windows can have on the room, specifically all of that natural light that you get throughout the day. The tall windows also make the room an ideal (and warm!) place to watch the snow fall.

Each amenity that you mentioned was handpicked by our Design Team, to ensure that our guests were receiving a unique, yet enjoyable, experience with us. We’re sure that the coffee maker was put to good use during the winter weather you experienced!

And what better way to enjoy a snowy afternoon than in our restaurant, Print Works Bistro! The seasonal menus provide a variety of selections for our guests, whether you visit once a month or once a week. We do hope that your business continues to bring you back to the hotel so you can experience our new menu next month!

This is a cool upscale hotel in Greensboro! It is a very comfortable hotel and makes a great weekend getaway or a nice business meeting location. The Bistro next door is a wonderful experience of food.

Room Tip: Corner king has two open views.

A great stay in GSO. Staff was very friendly, seamless checkin/out. They have a great restaurant on site (Printworks Bistro) which is a must do. Great food and very good selection of NC craft beers. Rooms are perfect, very clean with many ammenities. Gym is well equipped. Oh...and LEED certified so very earth-friendly!

We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed many of our amenities during your stay! A meal at Print Works Bistro is an excellent addition to a reservation at the hotel. We hope that you return in future, especially in the warmer months when our fitness studio has its sliding door open to the pool area. Fresh North Carolina air can make any workout more enjoyable!
