Still some really great Sandwiches, but less of a Deli than it used to be in the old location. We used to go there when it was really a Deli and in it's old location in the same shopping center. Both of us were a little disappointed that the Deli was more of a Sandwich Shop and had lost some of its charm, BUT, the Sandwiches and accompanying items are still great. If you want a truly great deli sandwich and do not want to travel to NYC, this is it.

If you're looking for fancy, keep looking. This is a real delicatessen which I didn't think existed south of the Mason-Dixon line. Good, homestyle food, and plenty of it. Clean, relaxed atmosphere. friendly, courteous, knowledgable service.

A slight cut above a fast food place. It has good seating, very clean, you place your order at the counter and then it's moved down the preparation line where you pick it up.
The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and it 's in a good location in Friendly Center.

Service was lacking , lots of service help standing around on a saturday morning . My service person obviously knew some people at another table - that's where she spent all her time.
The food , I had an omelet with bagel and fries - fair , eatable and hot when it came to the table.
Did ask for real butter but the reply was "we don't gave that here" . Kind of a big turn off right there. The omelet had more cheese and turkey sausage than was necessary.
Kind of surprised as there were a lot of good recomends here. And NO , I wouldn't go back next time in Greensboro.

I love Jay's Deli in Greensboro. They prepare a good selection of sandwiches and have delicious sides. I have to admit that I miss the look and feel of the old Jay's Delicatessen when it was across the street. They actually sold deli meats retail, had a small seating area to dine in on prepared sandwiches, and always seemed to have pre constructed Italian subs sitting next to the cash register for a quick in and out if you were on the run. Ahhh the good old days. That doesn't take a way from the new format, only reminds me of days gone by.
