We stopped in this Camp after a Safari Day in Tarangire; altough we are not used to camps, the staff was able to make this stay one of the best in Tanzania.
The beer at the fireplace at sunset is a real medicine for the mind and the food is really surprising!
highly recommended

We stayed here one night on our feb safari and found it to be the best camp on our trip. Very clean and comfortable tents with plenty of space to move around. Hot bucket showers were great as were the flushing toilets. The staff were brilliant and food some of the best we ate on our trip! Everyone at this camp were very helpfull and friendly with a great sense of humour.. a wee game of football went down nicely too untill a huge thorn burst the ball and punctured my careless boyfriends foot... thats what he gets for running barefoot on the grass! Before dinner we were treated to an interesting Massai dance which i couldnt help but giggle the whole way through :) you dont get that in Scotland!! All in all we loved this place and I hope the young hard working boys that run it succeed in having a busy camp all year round! Excellent job!

We spent 2 nights at this camp and it was our favorite out of 3 tented camps we stayed at during our safari. The food was wonderful! Easily the best we had on safari- big portions and fresh ingredients. The camp manager was a pleasure to talk to and attentive, and the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. The tent was clean and comfy. We were three adults in one tent and there was just enough space even with our luggage. Appreciated the hot water for a comfortable shower and the modern flushing toilet. We highly recommend this tented camp; the peace and quiet here was a such a different experience than at the busier lodges.

The previous reviews have done a good job of describing the place... just six guest tents well separated from each other, very well maintained, clean, comfortable, hot showers at request and good meals. We were the only guests when we stayed in October, 2011. The animals move around the Tarangire ecosystem, so we didn't have any "visitors" other than a nice assortment of birds and a few lizards. Lots of elephant dung - no elephants, just dung. Not the camp's fault - the animals don't follow our schedule!

The Masai dancing was interesting - almost a little spooky. We were sitting by the campfire having some popcorn and beer. No moon, so it was very dark. The men appear out of the darkness. There is no explanation... they just sing and dance. Then they leave. The intent and meaning of the song and dance remained a mystery - maybe not a bad thing. We spent much of our month in Tanzania asking "What...?" and answering "I don't know!"

We also did a morning walk - in our case, after the mandatory references to animal spoor - tracks and poop - we mostly concentrated on birding. Since much of a wildlife safari is spent in the vehicle, it was nice to actually get to just walk on the land and look around. A whole flock of yellow-collared lovebirds was a fun photo experience!

A good place to stay - quite a different experience from some of the busier larger camps and lodges.

Having lodged in larger and expensive lodging in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, this was by far the best lodging and food experience we had throughout our safari. It was quiet, scenic, secluded and intimate. Meals were delicious! Compliments to the chef. Meals were served at a set seating time which offered a chance meet and share stories with like minded travelers. Hagai Kissila and his staff were friendly and accommodating. Tents were clean and spacious equipped with modern toilet and shower, both of which are fed by outside, large volume bucket, filled manually by staff and available on demand for hot showers (You probably don't need to ask as they will ask if or when you would like your shower). It is a great way to manage water, where water is quite a luxury to have. Knowing animals are roaming about and the Masai are guarding the lodge is really quite an exciting experience you cannot get at a large lodge. We would highly recommend this lodge and experience to any traveler(S); this really was a treat!
