We spent 2 nights at the Osupuku Lodge, just outside of the Tarangire National Park. It was really an experience (a first for us, as this was our first stop in our safari trip). The lodges were quite far from the reception, and we were told that the generator would stop from 11 pm till 5 am. Hot water was available courtesy of solar water heaters.
THe rooms were spacious and clean, and the rooms we got had a clear view of the valley below and we spotted some elephants and other animals. We also took a private walking tour with the lodge's Masai warrior guards which was quite an interesting experience, walking to the base of the Tarangire river (it was dry then).
The food was good, and the service excellent.
Our minor complaint was the to access wifi meant walking to the reception, and also due to the weather, night time was quite warm as there was no power to drive the fans. But all in all, it was really an experience.
The bonus was that the lodge gave us a family room (consisting of 2 units adjoining each other).More
