This lodge was one of the best places I have ever stayed. It was our first night on safari and we had no idea what to expect. I had seen the good reviews here and actually asked to finish up early in the park so I could get to it sooner (around 4.30). I was not disappointed. The view from the lodge is so amazing it's like your mind can't process what it's seeing. I'd post photos if our camera wasn't stolen from some loser in Arusha on the last day of the safari.
The tents are comfortable and it's so exciting waking up to see animals outside. We originally asked for a bungalow and I'm so glad there were none available because then I would have missed out on the tent.
The food is fantastic and the bar has everything you could ask for. My husband has coeliac's disease (severe gluten intolerance). The lodge was advised of this when the booking was made and they remembered he was coming. We arrived with our swahili explanation card (most coeliacs will be well aware of what I'm talking about and if not then message me and I'll tell you) and it was taken to the chef. From then on all staff were aware of the issue and went out of their way to make sure my husband was well fed and happy.
Annette, the owner, is friendly and accommodating. She really goes out of her way, as do all the staff. My only regret is not staying another night in this wonderful place.
