We stayed at the Tarangire Safari Lodge for three evenings during our three-week safari in northern Tanzania this past November.
We loved our stay there. First off we were so impressed with the owners/managers of the lodge. They took real care to ensure we were welcomed and informed about the lodge and its amenities as soon as we arrived. They also checked with us and all the other guests regularly to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. There was an authentic caring feeling from the owners that really came through. It was clear to us that we were welcomed and that they were genuinely happy to have us and the others as their guests.
The location of the lodge is idyllic with breathtaking views overlooking a beautiful valley, in which the Tarangire River winds. We spent many hours simply sitting and enjoying the views of the valley and the many animals that roam through it.
We stayed in one of the Lodge’s bungalows, which are built, in a traditional round style. They are very spacious with comfortable beds with a nice bathroom and shower. The front has a small covered sitting area, which is very comfortable. The staff did an excellent job of cleaning the bungalow each day.
The main lodge area is very spacious with a lovely bar and dinning area. The meals are very well done and there is complimentary coffee and tea all day long. One unique feature that they have added is a battery charging station. Guests can bring their cameras or other electronic device and plug then in to be charged.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
In summary it is a wonderful lodge, situated in a perfect location for game drives in the Park. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling the park. I rate it a 5+ out of 5 in all areas.
