I have been writing reviews of most of the places I stayed on safari and realized I was being repetitive.

Like all camps I went to the staff was amazing and the food was good.

What set this camp up was the amazing views overlooking the park. We saw elephants and giraffes in the park from above and there were also monkeys playing on the grounds as well.

If you want to see hundreds of elephants, Tarangire is your place and this camp does the park justice.

Room Tip: The tents are lined up on a road which comes from the dining/living area. If you want a short easy walk to your tent, get close to that area, if you want seclusion, get farther away

Dear Brandon_TC

Thank you for your review! Much appreciated!
Great that you got to see lots of animals from the lodge!
This morning we had over 200 Elephants in the valley below! Such a beautiful sight! :)
Hope the rest of your safari was just as enjoyable!

Karibu tena/Welcome again!

Warm regards,

When you enter the lodge, witch is situated in the Tarangire NP, you see immediately the stunting view! It was so nice to sit and rlax and overviewing the nature. The tents are clean and have good confort: hot water, electricity, separate toilet, shower ) The food was excellent ( buffet in he evening ) and very friendy staff. Nice swimmingpool, free WIFI in the bar area.

11/12/13 Tarangire Safari lodge -Tent 15- The view on the plain/river is amazing and the bar area is lovely for evening drink and enjoying the view. Wifi access. You're in the middle of the natural reserve and you are constantly reminded of this - be it due to the sign posts that warn you of the wild animals, or the animal sounds you hear when in the tent. We were visited by elephants, in the early evening and early morning, walking down the pathway in front of the tents. We also heard the growl of a lion during the night, and possibly digdigs rubbing themselves against the tent. Didn't get much sleep but it was exciting. As with all tented accommodation, check the beds and sheets and perhaps bring your own anti-insects spray. No problem with hot water. Staff is really friendly and we got to meet a wild cat with leopard colours that would eat bugs in the dining area.

What an amazing place. The entire lodge is set up along a cliff face so that you're looking down into the park. Watch a troop of elephants march across the plain and across the rivers. Watch them knock down a baobab tree. And that's just the beginning of an amazing number of species visible from the pathway atop the cliff.

But you don't even have to walk to the pathway for a more up-close view of so many animals. They come to you. The first morning, impalas came running between the tents to graze at the clifftop. Tiny dikdiks frequently made an appearance. Monkeys were everywhere - but be sure to zip your tent right up or they might try to get in and then you're facing the chaos of a tent in disarray on your return.

The best was the elephants who often grazed right behind our tent. One afternoon a couple of them wandered to the pathway and decided to eat up the garden. They left that in disarray. They then wandered down the path in front of all the tents, unintentionally pushing over small trees as they went.

For one of the best views in East Africa, walk down to the end of the property beyond the last tent on the non-pool side. Best at sunrise - you'll be looking at the vast plain from a high vantage point. The river bends right below you so that you're looking up it in two directions.

Best to bring binoculars. Not just for looking down onto the plain. A great array of birds is always flitting about.

Tents are comfortable and clean. Food is buffet-style. Plenty of selection or ask for a freshly prepared omelet or pancake at breakfast. All very good.

Room Tip: Tents on the pool side of the lodge are the best as you're closer to the edge of the cliff.

This was the first place we stayed on safari and I loved it. The tent has a separate bathroom area with toilet shower and sink--all clean. The bed was comfortable (you are not 'roughing it' at all if you stay here) and its amazing to hear wildlife around you as you doze off. We had a decent breeze when we stayed but I can imagine if the air is still one night it could feel less comfortable.
The scenic overlook is perfect for sunset and sunrise--its a gorgeous view. Great place to relax after a long safari day. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent and the dining area had its own amazing views as well. The lounge area was large with plenty of seating. When you go to dinner, it helps to bring a small flashlight on you. It will be dark when you walk back. You can request a guard to walk you but we (and another group behind us) opted to turn on our flashlights and make our way back to the tent on our own. No wild creatures ventured onto the grounds when we stayed--but the following morning when we went to the scenic overlook we could see warthogs and waterbucks grazing at the bottom of the slope. Great experience, falling sleep and waking up to nature.
