“Beautiful and peaceful”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

So relaxing, great pool and food. Really peaceful after being in city chaos of phnom penh. No TV which was fine for us, bring a good book and enjoy the beautiful gardens. Loved the consideration for the environment and views. Breakfast was yummy with great coffee.

This place is such a lovely part of the world to come and chill, especially after the hectic schedule in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. The views are amazing and the rooms are comfortable. Pheakday is a staff member who really went out of his way to ensure that we felt welcome.
I hope to be back again soon.
the pool is lovely, there was no hot water, but this was ok because it was really hot and the cool shower was all I required.
Triple filtered spring water provided free of charge and the breakfast which is inclusive of room cost was really yummy.

There is no TV, the rooms are sparsely furnished, wifi sometimes temperamental, as mentioned by other reviewers - the owners wife doesn't know how to smile and I still give this lodge 5 stars for its perfect balance within its environment.
After spending time in Cambodia visiting the usual tourist spots it was a joy to find this oasis of tranquility by the coast and on the edge of Kep National Park. The guest bungalows are nicely secluded by vegetation- with a great balcony with hammock where I spent many hours relaxing. The lodge also has a fantastic pool. The food is great, freshly cooked and plentiful. The staff despite the long hours they have to work are always friendly and engaging. The highlight of a stay here is sitting in the sunset lounge drinking a tequila sunset and watching the sunset. Stunning. I will be back.

Room Tip: The closer you are to the lodge the better the wifi signal

Dear Kernowtraveller77,

Thank you very much for your review. Our staff (which I inform regularly about your and other reviews) and I are very pleased to hear that you did enjoy your stay with us, even with the 'to be improved' points you mentioned.

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you and other other guests, that we do have a TV, sometimes even a flat screen TV, in all the Deluxe Bungalows for the convenience of our guests and their children.
I am further pleased to let you know that I finally found a misconfiguration in our LAN (=Local Area Network, aka WIFI) and now the internet is working in all the bungalows much faster and much stabler and not just in the ones near the restaurant.

It is with great pleasure to hear about your 'highlight in our sunset lounge' and that our food menu was to your liking, which is a very important point for me as well.

After the long awaited generous rain we experienced during the last week our various beautiful flowers, bushes and trees are blossoming at a rapid pace.

We hope your trip throughout Cambodia was truly enjoyable and it would be nice to welcome you at our lodge again.

Dan

I stayed Here in April for the second time. This time it was even better with the addition of an upstairs restaurant with awesome views down to the ocean. The bungalows are clean and comfortable. The swimming pool is fantastic and much needed in the April heat. Food and service were first class. The staff are very happy and friendly. Dan the Swiss owner is very helpful too. All in all it was a wonderful stay in a lovely part of Cambodia. I'll be back. PS don't forget to visit the crab shacks for some delicious seafood. Hiring a motorbike for the day is also a great day out visiting surrounding temples.

This place belongs at the top, the view from there new extended restaurant upstairs is truly outstanding , the food was great had chicken and was full and happy with it, which is rare in Cambodia ...mother staff are extremely helpful and Kris the co owner went out of her way to explain the best places to visit locally crab market etc.... The pool was a welcome relief after a long day in the national park and the private bungalow instead in was fantastic even with all the mod cons of a 5 star hotel... Will I stay again ...Yes ..... Should you yes 100 percent these people have a perfect mix of peace and quite with quality and care...don't bother going anywhere else you'd be stupid...these people care about you, your sleep, your trip and your wellbeing ...what more can you ask for on your trip..don't over look this one whatever you do...you'll regret it...highly recommend for everything ....experts and it shows ....

If you're heading to Kep then staying at Kep Lodge is a definite must. Nestled at the foot of the National Park, the resort is home to a stunning array of bungalows where peace and quiet is the order of the day. The rooms are clean and equipped with AC, hot showers and stunning views. The staff are super friendly and are on hand to help you with whatever you need - especially if you happen to get stranded in town after dark during Khmer New Year and need a lift home;-) The resort also comes complete with a swimming pool overlooking the ocean, which is a huge bonus during hot season when you need to cool down. This is, for sure, my number one place to stay in Kep. Thanks for making our trip so perfect!

I came to Kep for a large group birthday, and the host couldn't have chosen a more beautiful resort for our stay. The lodge is stretched out over lush greenery and each villa is surrounded by tropical plant (and friendly animal) life. Because of the elevated location, every veranda affords beautiful views and shady breezes. So many delicious meals there enjoyed in paradise ! We had many adventures exploring Kep (check out the hand drawn map made available). The Lodge was so wonderful to come home to - and sometimes even made it difficult to leave. Thank you to Dan and his lovely staff for making our visit there so memorable ! Fully recommended.

Room Tip: Durian and Jackfruit. The decor is just beautiful
