I am a 56 year old woman who was travelling alone to FortCochi. Thomas met me off the Backwater ferry in Allepey and brought me to the beach chalet. It was in Monsoon season and the winds were fierce and I was a bit scared but Thomas assured me that he would not be far away and sure enough he was right there when I came out for breakfast the next morning. The location is spectacular but next time I will go at high season. Good value, lovely food and highly recommended.

We checked in on 10th Oct 2011 7AM and experienced peace, the sound of the tides, coffe at beach, candle light dinner, homely food, down to earth service, boat ride, sunset, sunrise, spend half of the night in the peaceful beach and checked out on 12th Oct 8AM.
A wonderful experience. Thanks to Thomas for the homely food at very reasonable rates.

I and Vidya, enjoyed a lot and the only thing I took back is her joyous face, which I never find even when I brought her a golden necklace!

Hemant.

It is a small cottage but with more open space surrounded it. It is well maintained within its compound wall. Food is very good and nominal charges. Staff response is excellent. Improvement needed in maintenance of bath rooms.

We booked NAC Cottage for 1 day in Ananda Beach Home and next day we booked a House Boat.

This property is quite ok, but not so appealing and the private beach (very small open portion of the sea) as mentioned by them is also not so good. It is basically used by villages to go for fishing. It's very dirty and poorly maintained surrounding.

The cottage in Ananda Beach Home are quite good and well maintained. I liked the wooden doors, divided into upper and lower half. Also, the bathroom was quite properly designed but open top.

My family is a pure vegetarian, so we did not like the food much, as Kerala being more famous for sea food. But, I liked the response of the staff members.

We also went to the Alleppy beach, where you can go and spend sometime, but getting into the water is not recommended. Alleppy town has a good shopping market as well.

One side of Alleppy is Arabian Sea and the other side is lake, House Boat in Alleppy is a MUST EXPERIENCE for a traveler if you are visiting Kerala.

Room Tip: Don't miss out the House Boat experience

Travelled with my family including a 6 year old. The place in the first instance looks like a great value for money resort with a private beach. Located next to a fisehman village (or settlement) .
Bad things first : The white sand beach of around 80 mts long is used by the fisherman folk over there as a open toilet. We landed there in afternoon , when to the beach and played in the sand and sea . The next day curious to see the sunrise and enjoy the morning breeze , we went early (7 am) . A rude shock was waiting us, there were quite a few people literally using the beach as open toilet, you can see the s*** everywhere . Some of the men folks were waiting for us to leave. On observing this , we simply returned back and ventured into the sand only to walk in the evening. (God is great to wash off the sand with his mighty waves during the day)
The beach is used by the fisherman to collect their catch from the net during the morning time as well ( 7.30 am - 9 am) This can be projected as a entertainment by the resort.
The room is small and amenities are average , ofcourse you pay little compared to other expensive resorts (paid 1500 Rs per night) . The cover of sofa screeming for a change, the pebble toped bathroom doesnt look higenic ( a 15 mins wait needed between baths) . There was a bath tub in one of the rooms bathroom, but not working. My kid was disappointed.
So much power fluctuation that AC works on and off . But the manager assured that he will switch on generator if required.
Only the native kerala food (Appam, fish curry , Fish fry , Kerala meals) are good to have. Other dishes should be avoided. Not to blame , bcz the cook is a fisherman community lady.
No recreational activities inside the resort. They claim a yoga instructor can be brought on request.
Absolutly no place inside the rooms to accomodate extra bed. The beds are just encough for 2 people.
Around 3-4 Kms from Allepy bus stand and boat jetty. Need to pay 100 Rs for Tac Tac (Autoricshaw) for each trip to bus stand or boat jetty.
Food available only on order (should order 3-4 hours in advance) sometimes just a tea took 30 mins.
Good things : The manager Mr.Thomas should be appreciated for his kind and polite reception of guests.
The Kerala food served is good.
If you just spend you time inside the fence of the resort , you can have a quite time. Unfortunatly , during my trip there was some festival happening somewhere near by , so there was the continous sound of the load speakers. When it was not there , only the sound of the sea.
