If you are looking at a perfect relaxation to relieve your stress and feel the nature at its best then this resort will provide you just that. I have visited this resort twice first with my team and then with my family. What I like the best is the proximity to backwaters ( the entire resort is like an island and you need to cross small rivers to go to your rooms, restaurant etc) and also that the sea is just a km away.
This restaurant gives some of the finest Kerala food ( we prefered Kerala cuisine). If you tell in advance you can be choosy about the fishes like kareemeen etc.
I had taken my entire team team for a two day stay and the fun we had ,games we played in water, camfire etc created the best understanding . Truly if you want to enjoy nature, cut off from the world then this is the place.

This resort is tucked away in the wilderness of tirkunnpuzha, a small village near alapuzha. There is absolutely no proximity to the busy city life and you can enjoy the serene environment.
The entrance to reception is through a small boat ride across a lagoon. The rexeption area also houses the restaurant and the kitchen. From the reception to our rooms we haf to take another small boat ride.
The service at the hotel was good. The food served, especially tea, was always hot despite the hurdles it had to face before it reached our rooms.
Rooms were clean and nice. There were two entrances. The rear entramce had a glass door overlooking the lagoon. We could see the sun set behind the backwaters sitting on our rear porch.
We also had a complemrntary 1 hour canoe ride. While the canoe was a little rickety, the ride was good fun. The boatman was a nice jolly fellow. He even managed to get us coconuts freahly cut from the trees!
The cons is that this resort is little away from the alleppey boat jetty. If you are staying here you cannot take a houseboat ride the same day! But we didnt want that and so we enjoyed our stay here.
Yes the place does have insects but they dont disturb you too much and you can rest assured of a good nights sleep.

We had very bad experience at this hotel. There was no room cleaning. facilities were very poor, AC started leaking suddenly due to which we had to change the room. Food quality was worst. No TV channels were available for non-keralaites. In addition they had given their rooms to some party animals from some company who were making a lot of noise and were drinking alcohol in the premises. Very poor experience for families and couples. Electronics equipments were of low grades. No complementories.
Overall horrible experience. Don't go there.

This resort has a five-star location. The surroundings are so beautiful. Very photogenic too as we managed to take some very stunning photos of Coir Village. Amazing location, yes. Sadly the resort owners and operators seem a little lax when it comes to keeping the water channels and their banks in pristine condition. We saw plastic bottles and garbage strewn all over the place, near the resort. What a pity! The resort has so much potential. We still enjoyed our stay. Would love to come back but I wish they would be more nurturing of the environment.

This place is not for everyone. But if you like nature, especially birds, and solitude, this place is for you.
I LOCATION
32km from Alleppey. It takes an hour by taxi. Because first half on the main road is crowded and the second half is a village road. Surronded by palmgrove, and situated in islands, it is very relaxing.
II ROOMS
Some cottages are independent, some share roofs and balconies. Rooms are basic but comfortable.
III FOOD
There are many items in the menu. But some of them are unavailable. Taste of foods is quite OK. Breakfast included in the room fee is continental. But you can order, for example, masala omlette, which was tasty.
IV SERVICE
Many previous reviewers mentioned of "arrogance" of the staff. But my experience of receptionists, waitors, and security staff was excellent.I was the only guest the first night. So they took very good care of me like a Maharaja!
V SMALL BOAT TRIP
A man rowed a small boat with bamboo pole and took me around in the backwater for an hour or so each time.(I took this ride 6 times in 3 days!)You come across with (blue and green)kingfishers,( red-winged) kites, (pure white)herons,(black)snake birds etc. in a close range. You will meet friendly fishermen and villagers, too.
Early in the moning as well as just before sunset were perfect timings.
In my opinion total satisfaction from 6 hours of this trip far exceeds 6 hours of gorgeous houseboat trip,
even the cost is a fraction.

Room Tip: You shoud check the facities of your room, such as hot water, a/c, and telephone connections before u...

Coir village resorts are 2 hours away from the main city. This is the 1st drawback. The 2nd drawback are the rooms. The geyser, television does not work. The 1st room given to us was a disaster. Nothing was working and the room was not clean. When we changed the room, this time the phone line was not working. There are no electrical switches to charge your phones. So we had to use the TV switch for charging. Food is ok. When asked for Idlis in breakfast, the guy told us that there is no batter so cannot prepare dosa or idli. The only good thing about the resort is the view. I have not seen such a fantastic view in my whole trip to kerala. The interesting thing is you need to use the canoe boats to reach your room from the reception. So your room is surrounded by backwaters. The hotel owns a houseboat which you can visit. The staff is co-operative especially the manager, Mr Baiju. I would say one can come here to experience the awesome location but do not expect any facilities.
