I visited the resort for a marriage function & I lost my sandals from my car when I gave it for parking. The service staff was too arrogant & I had to wait for 2 hour to get my parked car back. The only good thing was the food.

Nice, Mr Arjun ( GM incharge) was really helpful, Food is just Fantastic, but seems Staff are always busy, cud be more freindly, But Mr arjun was the person who actually had to intervene to help us out, property is fantastic, but the rice fields need to be either removed or cleaned as it stinks terribily.

Room Tip: njoi lake view premium villas

We were a group of 5 and stayed here in end Dec - the resort is very pretty -good rooms , landscaping. The complimentary sunset cuise is a must do.
The service is really bad- they refused to provide room service as they were getting complaints from customers due delays ! They had poor service in the restaurant too and the quality of food for a resort of that standard was really bad . The staff was unapologetic .

Room Tip: Choose the rooms with view of the Backwaters -301/2/3/4

Great facility...amazing food.Try taking the boat ride and back to the main market area. The facility has a boat ride through the backwaters to the Vembanad Lake. There are quiet a lot unique things to look around. The resort is near to the place where the annual must touted Nehru boat race takes place

Room Tip: Take time off to enjoy the great Kerala cuisine

Arrive by boat to give it that special feel (there is a road but I guess that would loose a bit of charm). The whole setting is magic and a massive amount of thought and effort has gone into the layout and grounds. The gardening is fantastic. I Was not entirely convinced that the lovely charming lady on reception had quite learned the script and details (eg check out time, or remembering to tell us where breakfast is etc) maybe she was new and she was charming and polite.

The room was huge with great views over the waterways and the pond / pool. There were cleanliness issues, but rather picky and inconsequential, eg roof of the bathroom had mould spots presumably from condensation and the walls by the door were marked from being banged by bags. Also rather bizarrely the floor had a minor slope towards the pool, a bit of subsidence I think, (yes I did experiment with a water bottle which consistently rolled the same direction.)

Food was good but lacked a bit of zing also the service just seemed a bit strange, a very polite lad in a T shirt who I had presumed for another guest. Breakfast was ok, but the juice had run out and the coffee from an urn with milk already added......

Our house boat was able to dock and pick us up from directly outside the room, which was great. The pick up time was an hour after official checkout time, this caused no problems, the desk staff welcomed us to stay in the room until it arrived.

Overall a good experience and with a few extra attentions to detail and cleanliness this could easily reach excellent.

Location, layout, pool and plantings (flowers, bushes, trees) are truly impressive. All rooms arrayed around lakes. Dining room décor and location overlooking lake is upscale and pleasant. But definitely needs some fixes to live up to its “luxury” claims. Bathrooms in our “villa” badly needed updating. Gym was really disappointing: no AC and half the ceiling fans didn’t work so unpleasantly hot; equipment old and rusty; no TVs or even music. Free evening cruise was really delightful. Free ferry into town is also an excellent feature. Overall, enjoyed the stay for the uniqueness of the location, the staff tried, but it was not up to the quality of other 5-star places we stayed at in India. Perhaps the updating which appears to be in progress will bring it back to the level it should be. Note that it is a very solid 2 hour trip to the airport.

Room Tip: Apart from the gym, out biggest complaint was that the bathrooms, although OK, were not up to luxury...
