It could be a very nice resort on a nice Alleppey canal. BUT there is some construction going on because they extend, the trees are nice and bungalws ok but inside the rooms is a bit obsolete, a mittle bit smelly and the AC very noisy; Breakfast was supposed to be included ( we asked 3 times° and then at the end of the stay you get it on your bill....

Apologies, there is some expansion work happening on site and it was supposed to get over much earlier and it has gotten delayed due to intermittent rain this year and some other reason well beyond our control.

This place could be the best in Alleppey, but while we were there the place was a building site, and there were many workmen around, together with loads of building materials, and all the noise that accompanied it. It could have been idyllic just sitting and watching the boats go by, as we chose to upgrade our room - it is really necessary to have one of three which actually face the water. It would have been lovely to relax in the hammock under the coconut trees. There were stunning birds there, including kingfishers.. BUT the best thing was Mr Prasenan's canoe boat trip - absolutely sublime. He took us out at 6 am, and we were able to meet villagers and see village life as people woke in the morning - this was one of the highlights of our time in India.

Room Tip: Must have one of three facing the water. As this resort is expanding it may not be as peaceful and...

Recently(March14) I have visited Kerala with my family , Palmgrove Lake resort Experience was very nice , good accommodation, good food , good location . I give 10 out of 10 to this resort. Mr Uday who is caretaker of this resort has taken care of us as family, he cooked food as per our choice. , he is very helpful.

My stay in this resort was memorable as my family got a chance to do Fishing , thanks to Uday who arranged hook for Fishing.
Good location , near river , whole day you can see house boat passing and relax .

Room Tip: Any room all rooms are very good .

We travelled to Kerala in mid March 2014 and had a nights stay at Allepey. The A/C boat house arranged was neat clean and as per our requirements. The food was excellent, the service impeccable. We had an early morning train to catch to Trivandrum. All the arrangements for the early morning transportation was taken care of. Definitely a recommended place in your tour to Kerala

It was an awesome experience to stay at Palmgrove Lake Resort. Very good service by Mr. Uday(care taker) with a smile. He guides you through everything about Alleppey. Very good view and location of the resort. Food is awesome too. Just a cupboard/wardrobe is missing from the room otherwise everything is fine.

This was my second trip to Allepey and I wanted to share the beauty of the backwaters with my family. On my insistence we stayed one night and had booked a Premium AC cottage and AC cottage. The minute we landed at Palmgrove there was an excited squeal from my family members at the sight of the beautiful houseboats cruising and crisscrossing across the canal just a few steps away from our cottage. One can sit on the lawns forever and watch these houseboats go by. The cottages were fancy from outside and very basic and rustic from inside. Uday the main chef is a wonderful helpful person and serves with a smile - one man army. The food served was very homely and delicious. The “tchak tchak tchak” chirps of the home lizards kept me and my sister up for the entire night so if one has no fear for these tiny creatures, you are sure to enjoy this budget property. My humble appeal to Mr. Philip Abraham is to ensure that there are no gaps between the walls and roof in the new cottages being built with indoor washrooms to cater to us city folks! The partly open washrooms though had their own charm and did not look as frightening during daylight. Overall a neat farm house like property.

Room Tip: Lake View AC Suite may be the best bet. The AC cottage were very tiny and the Premium AC Cottage was...

The resort is about 10 mins drive to main centre by auto. The hotel is located by alleypey back water, beautiful & peaceful location to enjoy. The staff at the hotel were very helpful (Ben, Udday) including the owner Abraham, by organizing our trips (taxi, auto, boat trip, massage). Food and breakfast at the hotel were nice, fish curry prepared by Udday was very tasty. Will definetely recommend to any friends and also planning to revisit again.
