“Best of the West”

Another must-do in Bijapur, but lying some way west of the city centre it's best approached by rickshaw. You can always walk back into town afterwards. Another fine monument to a little-known dynasty.

“Nice place....make sure to hire an authorised guide”
Reviewed 24 January 2014

If you visit alone, you might not be able to observe the intricate details like the hinge-free doors, chain made from a single stone, underground tunnel system, etc. Make sure you hire an authorised guide, who charges a nominal fee ( Rs.200 ) and takes a lot of nice photos of you as a bonus......Good place to spend an hour....

“Nice monument”
Reviewed 27 December 2013

Very well maintained and relatively less crowded compared to Gol Gumbaz. The architecture is neat, but there is a lack of guides around this place, who can explain stuff.

“Great site”
Reviewed 19 December 2013

This site is truly amazing. I'm certainly happy to have visited it. It was better than I expected; the pierced Arabic calligraphy in the mausoleum was truly something special.
