Mesmerizing Lord Shiva Statue is standing at a towering height of 85 feet (26 m) and width of 104 feet, which was been installed by the Shri T. K. Patil (Benakatti) Charitable Trust headed by film producer Shri Basant Kumar Patil just outside the Bijapur city at Shivapur on Sindagi Road.
“Basant Vana” is situated around 3 kms from Bijapur City on the Ukkali Road in the village of Rambapur.
An Elegant and Magnificent 1,500 tons astounding statue was prepared by Six Master sculptors from Shimoga with a 100’s of helpers for more than 13 months and the civilian design was provided by Bangalore-situated architects.
It was unveiled on 26 February 2006 on the day of Shivarathri.
Breathtaking sculptor’s views - First word which comes from our mouth is – Wowwww, followed by Awesome, Fabulous and Excellent.
Beneath the statue, a small idol of Kashi Vishwanath Shiva Linga has been placed.
After entering through Sheltered path on the left hand side we can find Navagrah Idols and on the right hand side Nagadevtaa idol.
Small Small details are taken care very nicely; like Third-eye, Rudrakshimala (is about 50 kg each in weight), Serpent (swirling around neck is of 145 feet in length), Moon, Trishul and Damaruga…
This statue is surrounded by trees, varieties of show plants, grass and with a beautiful garden.
It has become one of the prime visiting/picnic spot in Bijapur by attracting countless number of devotees from India and aboard day by day with utmost reverence and also considers being the Fourth tallest statue of Lord Shiva in world.
There are other attractions for kids like slides, merry-go-round, Peacock, Rabbit, Statues of Cow and Giraffe etc.
The place also has shops selling pooja items, snacks, soft-drinks and souvenirs.
Entrance fee is Rs. 5.00 per person, between 6-12 years Rs. 3.00 but free entry to below 6 years children and physically handicapped which should be appreciated.
Camera fee is Rs. 5.00, Handy Camera fee is Rs. 20.00 and Video Camera is Rs. 50.00
Timing: From Morning 06:00am to Night 20:00pm
