We booked The Hotel Surpin Palace on route to the national park, booked for 2 nights but couldn't wait to get out of there.
Staff quite helpful, Reception looked OK, Spacious rooms (We booked the Executive) Sheets and towels, were OK.
Having been in India for 3 months, we are used to various standards of accommodation, but at nearly Rs 2000 a night, it was awful. We have had cleaner and nicer ones at RS800. Soft furnishings are all badly stained, Room was dirty, toilet dirty, asked for it to be re-cleaned, that was a battle when they finally sent some one up cleaned toilet, basin and then the floor with the same cloth.
Complained about the room and were shown several others just as shabby and dirty.
Booked out asap following morning and went straight to National Park.
There must be better value in Kota
