This is a decent hotel in a town lacking many choices. The erstwhile Maharajah of Kotah's residence converted into a hotel and now run by the ITC group, this property is nestled in a wooded area replete with peacock, langurs and sambhal deer.

We were there for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay, the room given to us was absolutely the biggest hotel room I had ever stayed in. At least 1500 square feet if not more, most Mumbai flats are smaller than this room. However this room (#118) had no windows! I'm not sure if that is standard but I found the lack of an outside view a tad claustrophobic!

The amenities though were stuck in the eighties, a dated bathroom needing renovation and sofasets that had seen better days were not a good representation of other ITC properties that we had stayed in. The bed was comfy and I did enjoy two nights of very good sleep. The Fiama De Wills - ITC products, in the bathroom were a nice touch.

The food was 'meh' at best and pricey for the town, a dinner for three came to over 2500. I have to commend the staff though for their training and the professionalism of the ITC group does show.

All in all I guess in a town with poor options this is probably as good a hotel as you can get.

Room Tip: Don't stay in Room 118 if you are claustrophobic it has no windows,

A heritage property nestled in its charming mini forest, the palace lets you bask in the splendor of the days of yore. The place is owned by the Maharao's family but is managed in the characteristic ITC efficiency.Rooms are enormous, yet beautiful.Subdued lights, Rajasthani paintings, grand furniture and state of the art amenities and you have the recipe for royal indulgence. Darbar Mahal, now used for limited gathering events is bedecked with the taxidermy specimens of royal hunts, majestic tiger heads look upon you from all four walls. The bar is in a class of its own and the manicured lawns add to the charm of the place. Architecture fuses modern with the traditional and the result is WOW!Rich royal food in aarogan restaurant indulges your palate almost sinfully. In short, the place can be described only in superlatives.

Stayed at this magnificent property for 2 nights. Unfortunately it was on a business trip and thus was not able to completely soak in the easy regal charm and sense of history that permeates the property.

Humongous rooms and no exaggeration here. Each room is more like a suite with its own sitting area and dressing cum bathroom.

The food is good and menu appropriate for the heritage location and local culture. It must be a task to maintain such a large heritage property. I am glad ITC Welcomegroup have taken on these properties so that they can be managed in the way they deserve.

A excellent place to stay in Kota. A small drive from the main road takes you to the main property. Excellent ambiance, good supporting staff and the felling of "heritage" adds to the charm. The rooms surrounds the central lawn which given as added feeling of "royal homeliness".

Though lack of activities for the children do make them a bit uncomfortable, in case staying there with children.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent.

The hotel's ambiance was great, especially the restaurants. You can enjoy alcohol with food here. The alcohol was cheap as compared to Bangalore/Hyd etc. The food was good as well, although we just tried the starters.
