We stayed in May and wish we were still there. This place is amazing, beautiful rooms with stunning views even from the bath. The restaurant was superb food and the view from the restaurant made it hard to leave. The staff are wonderful, great spa service at a very reasonable price, big discount for guests. This is definitely on our return list.

Aquaterrace is absolutely amazing. The views are stunning, the room is awesome and the staff are really friendly. The food is great. We had every meal here and our only regret would be not staying here long enough to try all their dishes. Their cheese okonomiyaki is the best I've ever had and the beef tataki with sambal is super tasty with a Balinese twist to it. Thank you so much, Made, Eriko and all the staff at Aquaterrace for making our first trip to Amed such a memorable one. We will definitely be going back.

The first thing that popped into my head as we ascended up the stone steps of Aquaterrace to the restaurant area for check-in was how it looked exactly like the pictures shown on the websites you find online.

The weather was sunny and clear, enabling the lighter colour scheme of the establishment to show off the white stones and blue tiles in the swimming pool offset with the dark blue ocean to do what it does and sets this place out from the traditional dark coloured wood based balinese homestays/inns lining the area. This can probably be attributed to the influence of the owner's japanese wife, who was there to make sure everything went smooth throughout our stay.

We were already brumming with excitement with want to jump into the pool and enjoy that breathtaking panoramic view of the Bali sea, whilst resting our chin over the poolside. Luckily, we were allocated the bedroom on the ground floor, which has a balcony with sofa and has steps leading directly into the pool area with sun loungers.

The colour scheme of the room follows nicely from the outside. The bedroom was spacious enough for two people, with a huge comfortable bed and most importantly, there was an ac unit! The toilet and shower area are in separate areas. Prices in the minibar were not extortionate, and there was a fridge to keep your drinks cold. Perfect!

The staff of 4-5 are relatively young and were always eager to help and learn English from you. They helped motorcycle us back and forth from the Japanese shipwreck, and to the mountainside for sunset. They were always busy, doing this and that, but were always at hand should you need anything. The place is very well kept, with excellent cleanliness throughout.

Now, we move on to the food. WOW. WOW. and WOW. We ate all three evening meals here, and were not tempted to try anywhere, and we did not regret doing that. From the specials on their blackboard, and the normal menu with a japanese section, we sampled over the course of our stay the tuna steak, beef steak, pork katsu, prawn katsu, japanese omelette, beef takaki, tuna carrpachio, kuhlua & ice cream, brownie & ice cream, strawberry crunchy ice cream, . Everything was freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. Both our steaks were ordered medium-rare, and it was cooked exactly right! Every mouthful was a delight. The only problem we had was not having more room in our bellies to try every dish on the menu during our stay. Deserves at least 1 Michelin Star.

A special mention goes out to the Nori tuna sushi roll we ordered on our 2nd night, and I swear this was the best sushi I have ever had, from the presentation, the freshness and the taste being outworldly. My only regret was not ordering another helping on that night. We ordered it again the following night, and we definitely could see that the sushi maestro chef (the wife?) did not make it this time (she was not on site), but still props must be given to the staff who tried their best in delivering a sushi tasting better than most places I have eaten around Hong Kong.

Breakfast was ordered the night before and they would deliver to your room or in our case, the balcony. The selection was more than sufficient, with juice/fruit, eggs/sandwich & coffee/tea and was cooked to the same standard as the dinner. What a great start to each day.

During our first day of lounging around the pool, the staff asked if we would like our afternoon tea, which comprised of a beverage accompanied with their daily little desert treat (changes each day). The sample of strawberry crunchy ice cream is what led to a proper portion being ordered on our last night.

They have a massage facility on site, which offers 50% discount to those staying at Aquaterrace. I think the actual set up of the place could be so much more than what it is. First of all, you cannot enjoy the ocean view, and secondly, noise is an issue (see later on). The masseurs gave a thorough massage and were very accommodating when we added an extra 30 mins to our massage. I would rank my experience at around 70%, but this is because I had earlier in my holiday gone to the spa - Bali Botanica in Ubud.

The owner was very generous to offer us the option of staying on the top floor on our last night as it had become vacant. This would have offered a truly panoramic view of the ocean from the balcony because the lower balcony view is somewhat obstructed by a tree in the homestay in front of it.

I think the SERVICE you receive here is exceptional, from the way the staff serve your food and drink, to how they greet you and generally how they talk to you. You cannot fault them. Even when our prearranged taxi was late in picking us up, I could already see that the manager was making calls chasing the taxi driver up, looking even more concerned than I was when the taxi was later by 15 mins.

If I had to pick one negative thing, it would be the constant noise of motorcycles that pass by the establishment. Given that 98% of the homestays in Amed would have the same issue because there is only one main road along the coastline, I cannot see that as a reason not to stay here, when the extremely satisfying quality of service you will get with a stay at Aquaterrace heavily outweighs that issue.

Thank you Aquaterrace for your hospitality and continue your efforts in improving the already high standard you have in place. We hope to visit again soon.

We booked the Terrace room for 3 nights: Huge terrace ,with scenic view extending outward with a 180 degree view over the sea and Lombok.. You can enjoy fabulous sunrises just from the terrasse...
Very confortable room and bed, frig with cold drinks , beer, and wine in the room and a large mineral water refilled every day.
We have tried several meals from the menu and it was everytime fantastic, even the tea time with sweet over the gorgeous pool and great breakfast selection.
The staff is very dedicated to offer the best service and helpful to any requisite.Thank you to all of them.
We booked the package including room + transportation from Denpasar airport ( 2 hours drive) with private driver (very nice and professional) + fantastic Balinese BBQ for 2 and we absolutely recommende it.
Famous and easy snorkeling just 2 minutes by walk as well as at the Japenese wrek.
We really enjoy our time at Aquaterrace and hope that we will be able to come back.

Room Tip: If available ask for the Terrace room, the view is fantastic.

When we were introduced to our room, I felt in love with it immediately. Everything is perfect, even the staircase to the pool. I especially love the deco of the bath room :)

It is closed to the famous snorkeling/ diving site, we spent one whole morning just snorkeling, sitting and relaxing, there's even wifi in the restaurant near the snorkeling place.

If you want to stay away from the commercial and noisy tourist oriented beaches like Kuta beach, I'll recommend this place.

On you way here, you'll pass by Water Palace, to me, it's the prettiest temple among all temples in Bali. Our guide also showed us the Volcano during the drive, the view is astonishing. It's difficult to forget everything you experience in Amed.

It is a regret that we spent just one night at Aquaterrace, we'll definitely come back again!

This place has to be the best find I have had. From the arrival to our departure it was one of the best experiences yet. The staff were absolutely brilliant from day 1 with nothing too much trouble for them. They are truly multitalented asserts to this place & no doubt the owners have help with their training. The hotel itself is situated on the edge of the coast road over looking the ocean & from every room (3 only) there are magnificent views, even from the shower & WC. Rooms are very clean, fitted with huge & most comfy beds each with 4 pillows, A/c, fridge/mini bar, wifi, & lounge chairs or day beds. Heaps of room to move but a few stairs to climb. In front of the rooms is a small pool & day beds with the restaurant to one side. The only real criticism I have is the depth of the pool which is only about 1.5m at the deepest.
The restaurant is run by the same staff who look after everything else including the massages which are also very good & are taken on the roof top/decking above the restaurant overlooking the ocean. As for the food, it is amazing!!! Japanese influenced & everything I tried was above and beyond what you would expect from such a small place. (Seats about 10). We (friends I was with) describe it as probably the best food we have ever eaten, presented & with a brilliant choice if selection. Some interesting healthy drinks as well. On our departure day we decided to have an early lunch to get that one last meal in before we left even though we had a big breakfast only a few hours before. That breakfast by the way is included in the room price & also is wonderful. I chose the seafood pasta, which was ordered without issue. A few minutes later we see Wayan take off on his motorbike & return 10 minutes later with a freshly caught fish which ended up in my pasta. Never have I tasted such a fresh & delicious pasta! It shows the length of effort the staff will go to to make their guests happy. If you get there make sure you try the kingfish & mustard sauce with fresh veggies, my favourite.
Location is as good as it gets really in Amed as Amed is spread out right along the coast for many k's but there is diving etc within a short walk or drive from the hotel. It's about a 3 hour drive from the airport with easy access to other attractions on the island.
Sadly our 2 night stay came to an end far to quick & we said goodbye to the staff who all came out to the roadside to wave us goodbye, another extra touch which was appreciated. Thank you to all of you for a wonderful stay & amazing food, WE WILL BE BACK! Give the cat (nan) a pat for us.

Great place to stay. Large rooms and a nice free breakfast selection. Also, the infinity pool is just the kind of icing you want on your cake.

The only thing I would have to say is that one of the servers was in a bad mood our last day and it showed.
