“nice position, but very basic”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

we ended here as our hotel was overbooked. there are prox 10 bungalows right in front of ocean. all very basic, with outside bathroom. there's nice horizon pool and good working wi fi in the lobby. for breakfast you can choose between coffe/tea/juice, toast with butter/jam, eggs or tomato/cheese or pancake. maybe is important to know: there are lots of mosquitos, so be prepared. the beach is 300m down the road, where all the shops and restaurants are also.

Room Tip: room number one right in front of ocean

I just spent one night here but it ws REALLY quite lovely place. The view from room 1 was stunning , waking up and seeing the ocean from your bed isn't something many people get to do very often.

Sunrise spectacular.

The staff friendly , the horizon pool insane ... would recommend.

Room Tip: Room 1 with amazing sea views

10 bungalows with basic comfort, including mosquito net, fans, outside bathroom. Here, there is nothing to do but snorkel a few yards into the ocean in front of the hotel and feeling like in the middle of an exotic aquarium (and that is an amazing experience I have never had anywhere else!), hang out by the pool reading a great novel (the 13th tale for instance) seeping fresh orange juice, working on your tan, collecting round rocks and chatting with the local kidos, getting a massage by the pool when the sun finally gives up. I have been to this place several time and I always come back more relaxed than after a day at the spa! They now have wifi.
Caution: like all indonesian hotels I have been too, it works on a first come first served basis, EVEN WITH A BOOKING. So if you can, call them several days before arrival and again the day you come to make sure they don't sell your room to other guests!

Room Tip: Bungalow 1 is slightly more expensive but was built for the owner. If you can reserve it, go for it...

Went to the wawa wewe rock and at first, the view and the room were awesome! But then, there's insects coming in from everywhere! Plus, the bathroom is kinda outside, which looks nice, but when it's raining, bring an umbrella...

The staff was the most non-smiling one that we saw in Bali... You always wonder if you did something wrong or not...

Great pool tough!

I stayed 5 nights at Wawa Wewe Rock and loved every minute of it! I had Room No. 1 which is at the front - lovely big room, lovely big comfortable bed, quiet air con, gorgeous views - heaven! The pool is divine, the food is awesome (Wayan is a fantastic cook!) The staff are fantastic - they look after everything you need and go out of their way to help. Thank you Ketut, Wayan, Wayan, and Made for making my last 5 days in Bali so beautiful...see you next time!
PS - the best snorkelling is to the left of the hotel (facing the ocean), between the 2 black bouy's...
PPS - if you are a light sleeper take ear plugs as Wawa Wewe is in village surroundings and the Balinese get up early - you can hear the hundreds of fishing boats leave the bay at 5.30am but go have a look - it's amazing to watch - and then stay up for the awesome sunrise :-)
PPPS - there is NO Internet or Cell Phone coverage here but the staff can take you up the road if you REALLY need it...it's actually nice to totally 'disconnect' for a while :)

Room Tip: Room 1 has great views over 2 bays, is large and roomy with a lovely terrace and has lovely quiet ai...

The pool looking out into the sea should be reason enough for one to stay here. The rooms are comfortable, with all basic needs taken care of. When we stayed (in December 2011), the bathrooms had an 'open roof' with just foliage for cover. It takes a while to get used to that, but that aside, the resort has a lovely, close-to-nature ambience. A short early morning walk from the resort is an option worth considering!

We arrived fairly late, as the sun was setting, after a long day of cycling in the mountains and along the coast. As we arrived the staff welcomed us to the beautiful little resort. The first thing that caught my eye was the awesome little pool. The pool was definitely a highlight, even at night its got a view if the moon is bright enough.

The Thai food on the menu at the restaurant was devine and when the resort is not too busy they close the restaurant early. The breakfast was also enjoyable.

A word of warning, don't leave a candle on in the evening if get a massage, there are a lot of mosquitos and bugs that get drawn to the light ;)
