Very nice hotel with a great host (a French lady) who's very talkative and knows everything about the region. Rooms are very clean, look awesome and the open-air bathroom is just amazing. It's located right in front of the beach (100meters), has restaurants and food shops around.
Only downside is the price (we paid 350 000 Indonesian Rupiah/night) but it's worth it.

I've been going to Lipah for years, and had tried many of the other available places. I always stay at Le Jardin now: there's nothing to match it on price, comfort, cleanliness and charm.

Marie has made a most beautiful garden in which there are four bungalows. Each has an outdoor bathroom surrounded by a high wall, a verandah with hammock and armchairs, a double bed with mosquito net, and extra beds on a quaint upper mezzanine which make the bungalow accommodation really flexible: useful if you're a family or a group of friends. AirCon is available if you want it.

Marie's relationship with her staff is close and amiable; they've clearly taught her a lot about Balinese culture, while she's taught them to make bread, cakes and other French delicacies.

The breakfast is generous: the food I've had there has always been fresh, well-prepared and delicious.

This is based on a poor experience in the cafe. We were looking for a place to eat dinner. Decided not to order dinner after we ordered our drinks.

First, the waitress/cook was resting (Iying down) in the cafe when we came in. The drinks menu, showing an impressive selection of mixed fruit juices and varieties of teas, was a disappointment because they were out of stock of so many fruits. (And this is the best season for most fruit varieties).

Restaurant is dark and dreary, close to the road. We can tell that the gardens by the bungalows are very nice and sealed off from the restaurant. Chalk board menu of specials had some tempting fresh fish dishes and also cakes for dessert.

Service so slow, we just decided to go elsewhere after our drinks. didn't help that the cook didn't wash her hands after her nap before she started in on concocting our drinks. I was just too turned off and we went up to LaWaLa Cafe, a new place closer to Cemuluk.

This place is located on one of the very best snorkeling beaches in Amed. Wawa WeeWee just a few paces up the road, has live music on Wednesday and Saturday nights.

Although I did not stay here, I did have breakfast here most mornings and dinner once.
Breakfast was wonderful as they baked there own bread and served nescafe coffee.
Satff were really friendly, food was delicious and the surroundings were beautiful. Restaurant is on the main Lipah road but it is very quiet as the restaurant is surrounded by an absolutely beautiful garden.

We stayed for 3 nights in October 2010 and this was one of my favourite places to stay because of the accomodation and the positioning so close to a lovely beach with great snorkelling. The rooms are spaced out and have a lovely patio area for sitting and a comfy hammock, lovely and clean with amazing outdoor bathrooms, we had a banana tree overhanging our shower area ! The breakfast provided was fresh baked bread, delicious with homemade jam and fruit and excellent coffee, the only downside for us was that we had a fan room and struggled to sleep so would recommend AC - I am sure this is available - highly recommended for this area of Amed - close to plenty of Warungs, we ate at Cafe Indah on the beach which had great food and staff that would get the guitar out for sessions and were very talented. The snorkelling off the far end of the bay was amazing, we hired sunbeds from the beach boys who are very helpful and appreciate the business and will point out the best snorkelling areas. Also hired a scooter for the day as this is a nice quiet area without too much traffic, took a trip to the sunken Japanese wreck just a bit further along the coast.

We stayed at Le Jardin for three nights in August, and we loved it! We were honestly sad to leave. The bungalows were very cute, set in a colourful, well-cared for garden. Marie, the owner is very friendly and liked to have a chat with us. The food was really tasty - we loved the home-made bread - and the home-made ice cream! (We didn't actually have dinner here as it was a bit more expensive than the surrounding warungs.) Nice outdoor bathrooms, and it is very close to the beach, so really convenient. The only drawback was that without air-con, our bungalow was very hot.

During our trip to Bali, this was maybe our best accomodation. 4 bungalows in a small paradise. Beautiful garden. Amed s beach is 100 m away. Marie was very kind to us, cooking a very good breakfeast and giving good tips.
