Enjoyed staying at Arya Amed very relaxing and layed back. Not very busy around pool area or restaurant. Hire a scooter from front desk for $5 to get around and visit restaurants, Harmony and Komang Johns really stood out, and other places that you find out and about.

Really beautiful resort and well kept. Rooms were clean and what we expected. Fantastic pool with a view of the sea and a nice big restaurant with fantastic food, I caught some fish and they cooked it for us and it was so tasty. Staff were friendly and very helpful. They helped book our transport in the early hours after the fast boats were cancelled due to weather. It's close to nice snorkeling beaches and with a scooter you can quickly get to Tulamben for some great diving and snorkeling. There is a small supermarket right across from the hotel which is great if you need something quickly. Highly recommend the Arya!

We booked for 2 nights but ended up staying for 4nights. We will definitely be back!

Amed is a beautiful part of Bali. You can hear music coming from the nearby temple each day & we also saw locals having a ceremony on the beach in front of the hotel ( & it wasn't put On for tourists).

Our bungalow had the comfiest bed & pillows. We loved the outside bathroom! As it rained everyday we also liked that it had cable TV so if we got sick of reading or writing we could watch something, although it was nice just sitting on our balcony & doing nothing listening to the sound of the ocean.

The grounds are green & well maintained, and the restaurant is overlooking the water & beside the pool. It really is the most relaxing place, the sound of the waves crashing over the pebbles while you're beside the pool or at a meal can't be beaten.

If you want a place to relax & unwind this is it. There are plenty of eating spots nearby. Definitely try Harmony opposite! We ate there everyday.

The staff are very friendly here. We thought Gede who worked in the restaurant was fantastic. So friendly & attentive.

We will definitely return!

We were spending only 2 nights in Amed and I wanted somewhere reasonably priced on the beach. We booked a superior room for around AUS$45 per night which is dirt cheap. And I suppose what we got was reasonable value. But our room was kind of down a side lane way next to what was possibly a pig farm, with associated smells and noises and it was rather dark inside. The air conditioner struggled, we couldn't get the TV to work, the bathroom door had no handle on the inside (rather challenging when trying to get out) and it generally had an air of shabbiness.

The pool was nice but there were not enough pool lounges for all those who wanted one. The beach is rocky but apparently there is good snorkling just off the shore. The resort will rent you snorkelling gear for 50,000 RPH, which I think is a little pricey.

The staff are not polished professionals by any means, rather they are local village girls who do their best and a generally cheerful and helpful. The owner is a European woman who wouldn't sully herself by greeting her paying guests, she snobbed everyone!

Obviously the bottom of the range Superior rooms leave a lot to be desired and it sounds as if the more expensive rooms are quite nice. So pay that bit extra here, sounds as though it's worth it.

We booked a bungalow for our Christmas getaway this year and it didn't disappoint apart from the fact that the hotel has very very poor internet which in this day and age is completely unacceptable. I noticed that the guest book had comments from 2011 which said "What internet?" So it seems no action has been taken to correct the weak signal. They need to install signal boosters to reach the bungalows and the restaurant. When we complained about the lack of signal in Bungalow A5 they said that they would get someone out to fix it the next day but of course that never happened. The internet didn't work at the restaurant either and the waitress told us that it had a poor signal. A shame really as most people would have enjoyed a quick Skype call home for Christmas but sadly not at this hotel.
The room however was lovely with a very comfortable bed with a good sized fridge for storing drinks and snacks. The restaurant is not great...eat there if you must..but Sails restaurant does a pickup service and has great food at very reasonable prices. The view across the Lombok Strait from Sails is quite magical at sunset.
The staff at Arya Amed, and there are a lot of them, are very friendly and do everything they can to make your stay memorable. Great value for the money but don't go here if you rely on the internet to keep in touch!

It's an old hotel, actually a homestay with old facilities. We had superior room with courtyard. The room was so small with old mosquito net. There was lipstick and powder stain on the blanket. It meant that they didn't clean the blanket prior our stay. The bathroom was small and there weren't bathrobes and amenities provided. There is an alley in front of our room which was a public pathway for the staffs and other guests to walk back and forth to the restaurant or pool. So, there was no privacy as we had a glass door. They need to build an alley for public uses which won't disturb the guest's stay.

They served standard breakfast but lot of choices for dinner. The staffs are friendly.

There's nothing near this place. The pool is so slippery and not clean enough. The beach isn't for snorkeling, diving or even swimming! If you want to do them, you need to drive down back to Jemuluk, Amed or Tulamben.

My friend and I decided to stay here for a night only and continued our trip to Tulamben.

I had just arrived from the Rama Candidasa. As they were quiet, they had upgraded me to a luxury suite, which was really western 5 star. Here I had booked a 'Superior Room'. I was taken through the gardens and down through an alley to a rear courtyard, where there were 4 rooms. It was very dark and the view, was a wall between the hotel and the stinking farm next door. I went back to reception and explained, I had booked a superior room. I was told sharply, that was a superior room. All their rooms were either superior, luxury or luxury suites. If I wished to pay another $10 US I could move into a luxury room or for $30 US per night, I could have a suite. I explained politely, I wanted a superior room that I had paid for. After some argument, they agreed, with bad grace. It made no difference, I was the only guest ! I moved into an upstairs room, which was fine.

Breakfast was limited, but acceptable.

The hotel thinks it is luxury, but is in fact a Homestay. There are two new real luxury hotels just completed a kilometer further along the road to the west, if you want that. The gardens are OK, but hardly tropical and lush. The beach is unuseable and is made up of huge boulders.

The hotel is positioned 2 kilometeres from Amed, which is a small beach set in a cove. There are backpacker hotels there and a restaurant. There is nothing near this hotel, but a god supermarket.

I have now travelled along the entire northern coast. There is nothing in Candi Dasa (not even a beach), Amed - nothing. Lovina - no dolphins, you have to go way out to sea on a boat trip, but enough for 2 days, with bars and restaurants, Pemuteran - a hotel graveyard, not even a restaurant or a bar, Soka Beach on the southcoast a pitstop for the long distance buses. Conclusion, a couple ofdays on the beach at Nusa Dua, Seminyak, Sanur, then 4 or 5 days in Ubud max. Thats Bali.

Room Tip: Don't stay here. If you want to dive stay at the beach 2 kilometers to the east
