This is one of the cheaper places in Amed, its back from the beach but only a short walk. Not cheap enough though.
The standard room we were offered had a problem with the ac so they upgraded us to their family room which was big, but clearly had not been occupied for a while and smelt damp and musty. The smell didn’t really go away which is, in the end , why we didn’t stay for a second night. The ac in the family room was really too small for the size of space and it never properly cooled the room down.
Assuming we had been able to stay in the standard room I think we would have been ok, it was a good size bungalow, chair and table on the verandah, comfortable bed. The pool was very nice when you were in, but the tiles around it a little slimy with algae and slippery when wet (which was most of the time) and you have to walk around the pool to get to the rooms. Wifi in the rooms was broken and the one in the restaurant was very very slow. The restaurant itself was average, and breakfast was poor.
We paid 400,000 which was too much for Pazzo, I felt for those on tours who had paid $70 plus!
On balance I would avoid this place. Maybe its because its tucked away near a river in damp woodland but we never really felt dry, everywhere had a layer of greeen on it (sun loungers, poolside tiles, statues, walls) and it really needed a good burst of sunshine to dry it out, but overhanging trees and buildings mean it probably never gets this.
If you want something budget, look at the places up on the headlands. At least they get a breeze and some light. Also don’t book ahead, come and view places first, there are so many rooms in Amed that you will find something that you like if you take the time.
