we stayed here for 4 days, it has been a little dream! We stayed in the private house, woke up by the sound of the sea and the fishermans who came back from the sea. The staff of Life in Amed did anything to make our stay more then perfect. They really take care of this lovely place, have a good eye for detail, create a relaxing vibe. They gave us the feeling that we were really threated as a guest. The food is delicious by the way! Especially the Balinese chicken. You need to order this dish at least two hours in advance, but its more then worth it!!

We spent four nights here with our two daughters (13 and 11) and even though the pool turned our daughters' blonde hair temporarily green (no worries, came out and they looked like cool punk rockers) this was a really lovely place to stay. Put to sleep and woken by the noise of the ocean. What more could we ask for. Food is top too. There are restaurants around within walking distance and brilliant snorkelling opportunities. We had a sea facing room which was idyllic indeed.

We did not have a good experience here. The place felt cramped, the staff did not try to be friendly or helpful (unlike most people we've encountered in Bali), and the food in the restaurant was not good. Also they were not very helpful with transport, and tried to charge us way too much for short trips.
We had a room right on the beach, which was kind of nice in that we were literally just a few steps from the charming Lihan beach - dugout fishing boats covering the black sand. But our open air bathroom smelt strongly of chicken droppings (chickens everywhere), there were people coming and going constantly past our windows and door, including locals on beach trying to sell us stuff. My wife did get a good massage from one of these women, on a daybed on the semi-private small grass courtyard outside our room. Unfortunately we had cockroaches in our bathroom.
Amed itself though is a string of really nice clean little beaches with fantastic coral reefs. excellent snorkelling - healthy colourful coral and lots of bright tropical fish. Some really nice little restaurants. The drive to the east is magnificent.

This is a small but nice place to stay. It has small individual villas that have a basic room, with a rooom upstairs if you have older children (ie over 5) and a lovely outdoor bathroom. It is really relaxing as there are no TVs in the rooms and all you can really do is relax, read and snorkel around the amazin shores of this area. You can walk to other areas each day to explore further. The restaurant had great meals at cheap prices and the staff were very helpful. There is no fridge in the room that may have been nice, but then again the food and drinks are very well priced. Loved this place and will come back

It is a beautiful setting and very nicely designed place. I stayed in the main house which has great decor and a light airy feeling to it. The bathroom is outdoor which is lovely and the beach a 100 yards away. There is some amazing snorkeling at the far end of beach with beautiful coral. The staff are helpful and attentive and I relaxed completely. Thank you Sarah for creating such a wonderful place

Room Tip: The main house is beautiful and has its own salt water pool
