“Great snorkelling ”
Review of Jemeluk Beach

I've been lucky enough to go snorkelling in Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines as well as Indonesia and Jemeluk beach has the rare feature of good coral that you can get to off the beach. There is also plenty of fish, and in the last few days we've also seen a reef shark (harmless!) and a sea snake (possibly not so harmless!!). The beach is black volcanic pebbles and it is roasting hot under the sun, bring a thick towel to sit on and be prepared to run to the water. The coral is so close to the shore you have to be quite careful, was very annoying to see lots of people stand on it. Snorkelling gear can be rented locally for 40,000 for a mask, snorkel and fins (about £2/$3) that's for the whole day, we've been here 5 nights and the best equipment we've had was from 3 Brothers and also Mama Dive. There are a few places to eat, the best in that stretch though is easily Blue Star cafe.

We spent 6 nights here this year having spent 4 nights last year.It was not enough. Next time we come it will be about 10. We love it.
The best snorkelling. Sunrise and sunset. Calm and sheltered even though most of Amed will be windy and water choppy.
Near to some good dining options although many places will pickup and drop-off.
This place has lovely massage ladies, friendly sellers and a really good feel to it.
