Definitely the place to stay if you're diving on Bali's north coast: calm, close to nature, bungalows are superb, pools and restaurants are top class, the staff is impecable, and it's in the middle of nature: never wanted to leave!

Pricy, but worth each penny for the accomodation conditions, wonderful villas (choose Bay View), excellent pool with a view and of course friendly staff whom make you feel like at home.
Food in my opinion is just ok, breakfasts nice (we tried only Continental and American), but food overall is in our opinion too expensive if you compare the quality to the neigbouring villages. Tired with local food I ordered a pizza in a hotel and it was probably done from the frozen dough, not a nice experience, hard to eat.
I would also suggest not to use the hotel Diving Centre as it is overpriced as well. You can easily come to the small harbour nearby and arrange whole boat for 2 people for the price of being one of many in the trip organised by hotel. Also I find it strange that you need to pay extra for renting a bike in such an exclusive hotel, so there are things to work on.

Excellent place, far away from everything. Very cosy, very local, close to the nature.
If you're there there is just you and the nature. Excellent food - local of course. Very good, just perfect Balinese massage we had there. I know what I'm saying about because I'm deepened one and have a massage everywhere where I am.
The villas are different. Before you'll choose check which one will fits your expectations because they are vary. Every is nice, near by nature. You can feel there like in the local village.
Thats the place where you can go alone or with someone to reset you mind and body.
Take a book.

Snorkelling or diving there - perfect. Theres really unexpected nice reefs there. Really!
Just do it and go there!

We were absolutely enchanted by our stay!

What to Expect:
Secluded boutique resort with ~20 dreamy independent suites including large modern bathroom with volcano-heated spring water supply - including in the pool and the small ocean view basin. No beach. Ideal for divers and snorkellers to menjangan island. Very average restaurant.

Highlights:
- the volcano spring water everywhere in the resort
- the large spring water swimming pool overlooking the bay surrounded with flowers...
- the perfect king size beds
- the complimentary afternoon tea with warm cookies and fried bananas
- the large modern bathroom (in our lumbung) and its king size version in the Mangrove suite (so we heard)

Disappointments:
- the lunch and dinner menu : very expensive for Bali, especially given the limited options.
- the erratic service (sometimes they do not seem to understand what's going on)
- the systematic difficulty in booking transport

Advice:
- food: go for dinner at the Matahari resort in Pemuteran for an affordable Relais & Chateau experience (we did 2x). If you eat in Gawana: try the heavenly peanut sauce with the satay. Ask for the croissant at breakfast as they may not be offered to you otherwise

Room Tip: We were in Lumbung 10, it was spotless.

An incredibly beautiful and peaceful resort. We were there during low season, so had the resort almost to ourselves. Every member of the staff was amazing, helpful, caring, and kind - from the manager, to the drivers, to the front desk help, restaurant workers and groundskeepers. The rooms are beautiful, and the bay view cottages have great outside bathrooms.

Room Tip: Bay view cottages have wonderful outside bathrooms, backyards, and great views for a reasonable pric...

We were using a new Bay view Bungalow and it was really excellent, with a nice small garden completely protected from outside view, an outside toilett and shower which always gave a nice experience. Diving at the diving center was great with an excellent giude who showed us a lot of new fish like mandarin fish, an excellent coral riff at Menjangan. We also had relaxing massages at the SPA which I really would recommend.
The team did an excellent job and perfectly fullfilled whatever specific requests we had; a nice Christmas Dinner etc. etc.
100% recommendation for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: Bay view Bungalows a very nice! We had a look at the other types as well (Mangrove and Lumbung siute...

The service road into this Hotel is quite ordinary but the stay we had was excellent so is easy to forgive that. The Pool is very nice, the food was excellent (ate lunch & dinner at the restaurant).
We only stayed one night as we were on a trip aound the island on scooters and would have liked to spend more time there. Bay View room was amazing and certainly wasn't expecting our ouwn backyard. Can't say the view of the bay was spectacular because it was anything but that although not a reason not to stay in this lovely room. The staff were lovely (I find most Balinese staff lovely people) which wasn't a surprise and the Manager allowed us to keep our rooms a little longer so that we could refresh after snorkelling. A quiet time allowed them to do this so would not expect such liberties in a busy time. We didn't use the spa so can't comment on other aspects of the hotel.

Room Tip: Don't let the road in put you off if you haven't booked and are just driving around looking...
