This place is astonishingly cheap for how beautiful it is. We stayed here while diving at Menjangan Island and we used dive shops we found down the road. Quite a bit of a walk to anything else, and they do not provide free transportation.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped. With the exception of the stagnant fountains, the hotel was a joy to walk through. The view of the ocean was great (although no sand beach) and the pool that overlooked it was in wonderful condition. The walkways were lit by lanterns at night, there were frogs chirping, and the front was staffed no matter what time of day. The room was fairly nice with a large mosquito net that covered the whole bed. The shower was really great- it was outdoors and the water poured out of an urn. It was beautiful, romantic, and the water temperature was great. There were flowers placed on everything when our room was cleaned and the room was sparklingly clean.
however, the food was terrible, there were mosquitoes everywhere (although the mosquito nets, the daily spraying, and the mosquito coils helped), and service was not very helpful. We spent a lot of time and effort transporting ourselves away from the hotel for dinner because we were not willing to eat there.More
