Very friendly familyrun place, very Nice Garden with beautiful stoneinlayed pavement. Restaurant with cheap excellent food and a beautiful wiew to terraced ricefields and Mt. Agung. The laud sound of tropical night with frogs and cicadas is memorable. Walk in the ricefields!

Room Tip: 1. Floor rooms have the Best wiew.

Beautiful location, very quiet, extraordinary friendly staff. Wayan kindly introduced me to the basics of rice paddies, a walk through them is definitely recommended. Also loved the countless swallows during the day, the frogs at night. In short, a wold away from the hustle of many other places in Bali.

It has been mentioned here countless times - For the trek, make sure to bring sufficient clothing. I wore under clothing, fleece and jacket and long pants, hat, and still got a bad cold afterwards. As soon as you get out of trees on the way up, a bitter cold wind sweeps over the lava field. When you are sweaty ftom the trek through the forest you are pretty vulnerable.

At the start of the trek the guides give offerings at the temple, a sight we had in full moon light - a sight not easy forgotten. And so goes the view of the full moon that accompanied us, shining on the layer of clouds than soon lies far below you.
Reaching the summit is great. You all converge on a small rocky peak when day light breaks, and all of a sudden you start to see the faces of the people you climbed with all night. So many nationalities sharing the same goal. Do not underestimate the way down. The lava field is not made for easy walking!

One word of caution though, since I was alone the guide came to collect me on his motorbike. As soon as we got on the way a downpour fell, making me feel pretty unsafe with no crash helmet on a slippery road with leaves on them. Do ask for a car.

Room Tip: We had the house most to the east, first floor up. I am convinced this house offers the best unobstr...

Very secluded, private feel to the small resort with absolutely gorgeous gardens and view! Lush tropical vegetation created an atmosphere that you were truly away from it all! We loved the open air bathroom and the privacy of our room and were thankful for the mosquito netting. We made the mistake of leaving all of the lights on while we went down for dinner and returned to find the room inundated with little flying insects.

The only downside was the food. We had dinner there and were served very small portions that were edible but certainly not award winning.

Room Tip: No water in pool/spa but it would've been lovely to have it up and running.

I have just stayed here for two nights with friends and we had a fantastic stay. The staff were so incredibly welcoming, friendly and attentive, it was like a home from home. The view of Agung is amazing and we managed to secure a good deal through the resort for a guide to take us on the trek up the volcano. The guide met us at 1am and we started the climb around 2am. It is well worth the effort in the end but I must stress the need for proper shoes and warm clothes, as it is very cold at the top. As for the resort itself, although a little out of the way, it is worth the trip for the tranquility, views and hospitality. The food is very good, rooms clean, and the bathrooms are great. The massus is excellent also and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommended staying here.

We had a wonderful 3 days here without the usual hustle of Bali. It was rainy season, but didn't matter a bit. We managed a wonderful clear climb up Agnung (organised by GMV) and the rest of the time relaxed with superb hospitality from Nyoman and Wyan and family. Great views, lovely room (basic, but climb and lovely balcony), fabulous hosts, good post-climb massage. Would love to come back. Very happy memories.

Loved the outdoor shower, only slight criticism is that the hot water was a bit sporadic, but we were happy with cold showers most of the time anyway!

The only choice in the area that offers a clear and beautiful view of Mt.Agung with very reasonable price. It was serene and quiet. At night you can hear frogs and insects playing a loud and lovely orchestra, and you can see fireflies in the rice fields unde the restaurant. The roosters will wake you up before dawn. Hotel manager Mr.Nyoman and his wife were very friendly and accomodating to our needs. I will definitely come here if I want concentration and restful sleep.

The only improvements needed are in amenities provided (e.g. they shouldn't have broken the cheap soap bar into two) and food quality.

Nyoman and his lovely wife Wyan made our family feel like a part of their family. GMV is a very pretty little place with amazing views of Mount Agung. The afternoon we arrived the mountain was breathtaking - but the days that followed it was covered in cloud so I'm really glad we arrived when we did. We stayed for nights but with a young family, I think 2 would have been enough. There is not much for the kids to do, a pool would have been great to keep them entertained. (It was a great place to catch up on homework. Nyoman took us for a very nice walking tour of the village and into his daughters school where we were able to donate books and stationery which was great. The rooms and bathrooms were basic but very private and very clean. If you are looking for a place to catch your breath this is a great place to do that.
