We've visited this garden in may 2014.
It is a beautful garden with recreational purposes too. You can swim there (you have to pay for this seperately). The garden is beautifully landscaped, with small bridges, statues and fountains. There are some very big fishes too. It is a nice place to walk around, sit on the grass and relax.

Simply beautiful. We were there en route to Amed, driving through the attractive Karangasem area. Peaceful, wonderful Balinese architecture. We were there on a Balinese holiday and many families were there. Only incongruous note with this Westerner was the speedboat taking locals for rides in the moat; probably no more so though than inappropriate activities held in beautiful places in Western Australia. I preferred this natural, clean and majestic place (even with the speedboat noise), to its nearby counterpart, Tirta Ganga, which had many people, much rubbish and someone fishing in the pool for small fish (OK to take fiddlers, not large carp or koi apparently). This is a lovey area, not quite unspoiled, but not too degraded yet.

Ujung Water Palace is an expansive property built in the early 1900's as a recreational area. The land is beautifully manicured and covered in fruit trees, and the actual palace has images and some written history about past Balinese kings and local history.

Fun fact: prior to the palace being built, the moat was used to torture people who were thought to practice witchcraft.

Rent a scooter and ride up from Padangbai. There's a restaurant near the entrance if you're hungry.

The Taman Ujung Water Palace is a very peaceful place where you can hang out in the grass and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Definitely worth a visit.

Located quite in a remote surrounding, but with good infrastructure for cars and motorbikes. Beautifully located and built, this water palace is more suitable for people who love to do long calming walk, where as the nearby other water palace Tirta Gangga would fit more for short walk around. Mt.Agung and the ocean greet our eyes once we reach the top of the facility, which survived from Mt.Agung erruption. The site is commonly used as option in wedding photography. Ahhh... make sure you find the correct entrance, which has spacious parking lot and ticket shelter. Other gates seem like the entrance too, but always locked, which in turn can irritate people assuming the facility is closed. More than 30mins of visit, people could be bored easily. Nevertheless, i consider the whole as surprisingly beautiful. My opinion, the best time to visit would be during the golden hour.
