I can't speak too highly of the care the owner,Barbara, gave us on our recent visit. We booked our stay over the internet, including arranging their driver to pick us up from the airport (at a reasonable price). The entire experience was seamless and we arrived in paradise a couple of hours later, welcomed with a cool drink. Our bungalow was beside the pool, with a comfortable day bed, loungers and a small table and chairs on the verandah. The back of the room looked out onto Mt Agus and was surrounded by paddy fields. The room was simply but tastefully furnished with delightful carved furniture, the fan and mosquito nets were fine. The room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. Breakfast and afternoon tea are included in the room price. They also offer a reduced tariff for longer stays. Breakfast (including nasi goreng and mee goreng) was delicious and the coffee better than the average Balinese B&B (but still not a Melbourne espresso).

For a reasonable price Cabe Bali can provide lunch and dinner. This is useful as there's not any other dinning options nearby other than beside the water palace (a short walk through the fields by day but wouldn't risk it at night). There was no fish on the menu but Barbara was happy to get us some for the next night. The tempeh was wonderful. Vegetarians are well catered for, if you don't see something you want on the menu, just ask and they'll do the best they can.

Barbara is a valuable resource. Ask her where to change money, help you plan the rest of your trip, hire a driver...she's discerning and honest. She is German and her husband East Javanese. They appear to treat their staff well and run the small guesthouse with care and attention to detail. I really hope they don't retire before I have a chance to visit them again.

Cabe Bali was the perfect place for us to land, adjust to the time zone and change in temperature. The pace of life in Tirta Gangga is gentle (though if you're there during the full moon or other ceremonies bring ear plugs, the locals can be noisy). We enjoyed getting up at dawn to take pictures and observe local life and spending the afternoons lazing by the pool. If you're after nightlife, excitement or even a television, stay elsewhere and leave this beautiful place to those who appreciate life off the beaten track.

Our stay in the Cabe Bali has been the best experience/time on Bali for us.
Vey nice and calm location in the middle of the nature, very clean rooms, extremely good food and the personal was always very helpful and friendly.
We stayed for 5 days and we had nice chats with the owner who, with 30 years of Bali experience can give you good suggestion for anything, ranging from marmelade recepies to day trips in the region.
We want to come back for sure, especially because the atmosphere and the feeling of being at home that we got in the Cabe Bali we couldnt find in any of the high class hotels we visited during the rest of our Bali holiday!

Cabe Bali is located just outside of Tirta Gangga amongst the rice fields. It is a classy and well run hotel. The food was nice and the dinning 'room' was a delight to have breakfast and dinner in. The grounds are well kept and the staff is friendly and helpful. This is a gem and with the location near Tirta Gangga is is well worth your time.

We went from Ubud to Tirtagangga and had the feeling we arrived in the middle of nowhere. Cabe Bali is surrounded by ricefields and if you take a walk you will see just some farmers on scooters and women carrying all kinds of farmingtools on their heads. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the Water Palace of Tirtagangga of which we’d expected more by the way. The villa’s of Cabe Bali are beautifully decorated, but there’s no airco and we had no hot water. Breakfast and dinner were really tasteful. There should be free wifi but apparantly when the owners aren’t there, they pull the plug out of the internet. Only one other villa was occupied. When we arrived the staff seemed a bit shocked that they had to take care of more guests.

Close to Tirtaganga but a little off the main Tourist trail it is a piece of paradise. Trust them to orginise Tours. We specifically liked the nature hike. And don´t miss out on the massages. The guy they have is doing wonders.... The rooms are big and well appointed. The pool is fabulous and the food is good...

With only four large and beautifully furnished bungalows, Cabe Bali, (which means Bali Chili named for locally grown chilis) was a fantastic place to stay. The staff and owners are super friendly, can help arrange local tours and transport, and cook delicious meals for their guests. The menu is like that of a restaurant. The best feature is the large stone pool which somehow compels you to get in and swim. It overlooks rice paddies and you can swim or get a massage (on call) while checking out oxen plowing the land right beside it...amazing! With stunning view of Mt Agung behind and the sea off in the distance below. Try to reserve the one bungalow facing the pool...sublime.

We stayed at Cabe Bali for two nights. Our family were the only guests and the staff treated us extremely friendly. When we arrived late at night they even mangaged to call back the cook, who had gone home already, to produce a superb dinner.

The pool is lovely, located next to rice paddies.

The bungalows are located in a lush garden, they are very clean and large and they have nice views. The only improvement I would see is that the Bathroom doors do not give you enough privacy.

The royal pools of Tirta Gangga are within walking distance, a nice stroll through rice fields away.

It is somewhat difficult to find because the road is in terrible condition (paved road ends 200 m before Cabe Bali), but it is well worth it. Extremely good value...
