My boyfriend and I had lunch at Metis last week. I can easily say that was one of the best meals we have had. Great ambience, great food, *no dress code* (this is a major plus point cuz he hates to dress up when on holiday).
We had a delish appetiser of tune tartare, minestrone soup, our mains of fish fillet and lamb shoulder, and desserts of apple tart and profiteroles. If you intend to come here, please do not rush through your meal. We spent an enjoyable 2-3 hours there as their service is pretty much fine dining style. Enjoy the view and the company while in between courses. It's really enjoyable.
My boyfriend used to work in a fine dining restaurant and many things do not impress him. Metis is one of the few things that DO! From the way the ingredients are cut up to the way they work, he had only good things to say. They do not practice all aspects of fine dining, but it's still commendable.
We were really impressed... and pleasantly surprised when we got the bill (we were betting on the bill and were both wrong). It's not dirt cheap, but it is worth every penny. You'll never be able to find food of that standard and place with such ambience in Singapore, easily you'll have to pay 2 to 3 times more!
(We didn't get foie gras even though we both love it as it's against our morals and we're trying not to take it as much as possible)
