As our taxi neared the location, we were disappointed to find that it was down a one way, narrow beaten up muddy track. The taxi had to approach in reverse to have any chance of getting out! However the main problem materialized when we entered the “hotel”. We were immediately appalled at the state of the place, and the fact that it simply wasn’t a three star hotel, and the room was anything but deluxe. In summary, the place had just five rooms, and was suited only to hardened backpackers. My girlfriend was in tears from the moment we entered. The “bathroom” was a very small dirty toilet, with an old shower head hanging from a broken fitting, with rusty nails banged in the wall as hangers. No basin, no soap, no nothing except grime! The dining area comprised a dirty concrete table in the garden, and four concrete stools. The “kitchen” was a gas ring and plastic buckets under a plastic corrugated roof thrown on the end of the room. The mattress was so old and spongy it was a danger to my spine, and the lounge was a further two concrete stalls. There was no hot water, in fact there was very little water at all except the falling rain. Furthermore the electric cables looked very dodgy. We checked out Tripadvisor for reviews, and they are all completely fabricated, or are about a different place altogether!

Stayed here as is was recommended by some fellow travellers - and as we were told they had good deals on Gili transfers.

Room was ok and clean
Bathroom was ok - but had no sink for some reason - just a tap 25 cm over the floor for hand-washing
Wifi-connection was excellent.
Scooters were free - and worked very well.
Free water - very nice
Breakfast was great - served until 10.00 - we overslept and they still made it for us at 11.30
There is a fridge to store supplies in - and you could probably borrow the kitchen to cook if you wanted.
Service was good

We were a bit disappointed with the information regarding transport to Gili Trawangan. We got a good price compared to the listed price at Ocean Star Express (including transfer to Padang Bay). We were told it would take only 2½ hours to get there - and that we could only go to Gili T directly - not the other islands.
We were told to be ready at 6.30 - and the owner would be there to assist us. At 7.10 we had to call the owner who had not showed up. He called the driver who were a bit delayed. They showed up at 7.30.
On our merry way we were dropped at a shop in Padang Bay - where we waited 45 minutes and had time for breakfast before the boat left. It went first to Lombok, then to Gili Air - and last to Gili Trawangan where we got off the boat at 11.40.
When I am on vacation I don't mind something taking that long - I just don't like wrong information. Ocean Star Express was very good - we used them both to Gili T - and back.

Dear Mister .

Thank you very much for your review. as we get information by Ocean Star Express following the Boat Company that we have recommended to you to get to Gili T with that they informed us to be ready for guest at 6:30Am . may be is there a change is made by driver due the high way to east side is more close from our Guesthouse that may be the driver pick you up in the end after they pick up some one else , also about the the route from Padang Bay to Gili that you said they go to lombok first , that we don't get any info for that , as in ocean star advertiser they wroted is the route from Padang Bay to Gili T and continue to Lombok as you see as well on Brosure promotion , and we fell sad that we did a mistake of wrong info but for sure we will complaint as well to OCEAN STAR the boat company about this , and this mistake is not gone be happen on next time , again i wish thank you for stayed with us and please apologize for our mistake , and fell free to contact us if you have any inquiries , also i was not sleeping by they way , when you call me from the phone in receptions Dana Guesthouse Bali , i was waiting the bus for you in the shop in front , while waiting i had a cup of morning coffee .

Best Regards

I stayed here 3 nights and I had a gorgeous time. Let's start with the staff, they are friendly and help you all the time. They drive you around for a fair prize and they know the places you want to see. The rooms are good and absolutely okay! The breakfast is simple but tasteful, I like it. There is no restaurant in the guesthouse, but a 3 minutes walk brings you to a small, cheap but gorgeous place where they serve you balinesian food, pizza and probably the best beef burger I had for ages! The Guesthose is not close to the airport, but that makes it more quiet, you will find time to relax. The beach is a 5 minutes ride away. You can do that on your own with one of the Guesthouse's scooters or the staff takes you there and back. I had a wonderfull time here. Thanks for that!

this guesthouse was awesome. Very comfortable and quiet (away from busy kuta). They give you a motorcycle as part of your stay, and the breakfest is very good. They sell beer at the small "beer corner" for 50000 IDR for two tall bottles of the local bintang beer. The staff are all awesome and fun to hangout with. They have great advice on how to get around town and what spots to eat. The beach is 15 minutes away and 20 to downtown kuta. They also include airport pickup which will save you alot of hassle and money. Enjoy!

Room tip: Pay alittle extra for air conditioning room, its very nice here.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Although the guesthouse is close to the airport it took us both times 2 hours driving back and forward. That is the biggest minus but is due to traffic and not km. The free motorbikes pleased us very much since we used them for 2 days.
Not all the people working here speak very good english, but they are al least willing to help or find somebody who can understand.
We liked it mostly for it being a little remote from all the tourists in Kuta and Legian.
