“Good food, good time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

their specialty is bebek goreng and daging cabai hijau. The bebek is very good with medium portion, you can differentiate it from bebek bengil, bebek tepi sawah. Daging cabai hijau is also good, but only a small portion. nasi goreng is also good.
special drink is java ice tea with ice blocks made from the tea itself.

“Food was good, but portion was small”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014 via mobile

Cafe Degan:
Went here for dinner, place was so packed, mostly families with children, the place is under renovation, so part of the rest was temporarily closed down, hence limited space for patrons

We ordered:
1. daging suir (small sliced beef) with sambal matah : delicious and tasty, but we needed that extra spice so we ordered more sambal matah on the side
2. Nasi goreng kambing (lamb fried rice): the portion was a bit small, and not much lamb that you can taste nor see visually in the fried rice. I would say this was fried rice with a tiny hint of lamb.
3. Chicken in pandan leaves: tasty, and the sweet soy sauce on the side is a good complement to the taste

Also, try the homemade ice tea, it's refreshing.

Service was good, everybody was pleasant..but the waiting time was terrible, we had to wait for 45 minutes for our food. We noticed another table who arrived later than us got his chicken pandan earlier than us.

Overall, the taste of the food and drinks are great, but the portion can be made slightly more generous, as the price here is not cheap though not vert expensive, but comparing to the portion, I would say it's expensive.

Overall, 3.5 stars

“The Best Indonesian Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

If you wish to taste a classy Indonesian food, cafe Degan is the right place. The price is expensive but wait until you try the food.

Daging sambal hijau, sate ayam, sayur kangkung is one of the best that I've tried before and also try the unique ice tea. This is one of my favorite place when I go to Bali.

“Amazing food and service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

We had dinner here twice during our stay in Bali. They are extending the restaurant but this does not deter from the food at Cafe Degan. The service is excellent- the staff were friendly and every detail of our meal was perfect. The restaurant is a mix of Thai and Indonesian. The green curry was delicious as were the lumpia ( spring rolls), pad thai and the minced larbe. Moreover, everything was well priced. I would highly recommend this restaurant because of its divine food, beautiful service ( they brought a special table over so I could put my shopping bags on) and the wonderful setting and flower arrangements at this place. Please visit if you enjoy delicious Thai food.
