Puri Rohani was recommended by our friend who lives in Bali - we wanted somewhere peaceful yet not 'out in the sticks', where we could meet my parents and all hang out. Have to say it was a brilliant find! The owner 'Boots' has lived in Bali for 25 years and knows all there is to know about the island; he hooked us up with a car, someone to drive it (Bali driving can be pretty intimidating at first), and everything we needed.
We _loved_ the place - it's set in a big garden with 8 (?) villas set around two swimming pools, turns out Boots is an architect who designed and built the place himself- he calls it "Fabulously Funky" and it really is; each villa has a different style and the grounds are full of sculptures.
It's self-catering which was just fine for us; there are a million places to go out and eat nearby ('food street' in Seminyak has a particularly dazzling choice) so we just filled the fridge with beer and breakfast snacks.
Really had a great time - we intended to stay different places around the island but in the end were more than happy to use Puri Rohani as our base for the whole two weeks.
Definitely recommended, it's peaceful, accommodating, genuine, unpretentious, and beautiful. It's also reasonably priced, and Boots is a mine of information about the island.

If you need waiters and room service and stuff, you probably want a big fancy hotel instead; enjoy the big fancy prices.
We rented two villas (one for me+wife, one for my parents), and we had so much space we felt like rock stars; it was awesome; we could've easily had another couple in each villa.
Warmly recommended if you're looking for a place on the island. We'll definitely be back.
