Liked the swimming pool, view of beach but not sandy -- mixed pebbles. Breakfast offered little variety and food quality was mixed. Fourth floor room was quiet and nice view. Ant invasions daily. Room not always serviced in timely fashion. Off the beaten path with a few other restaurants up the narrow street (careful --winged once in the elbow by a passing car's mirror). Arranged for transport to airport and a wake up call. Latter arrived 45 minutes late and the former not at all. Luckily a car was available or we might have missed our flight. Staff were otherwise generally pleasant.

Room Tip: 4th floor away and provides exercise.

This is not a 5 star resort but you will feel like you are Bali. You get thatched roofs, fish ponds, lush gardens and friendly staff. The rooms are clean and spacious, it's on the beach, the pool area is conducive to socialising and the breakfast is adequate and overlooking the beach. This place is very good for what you pay for a room.

We met like minded people from around the world and enjoyed being in the relative quiet of Batubelig. It won't be like this for long though as the development creep makes its way further up the beach. Hire a motorbike for $5 a day to get around or take advantage of the shuttle bus that will take you to Seminyak, Legian or Kuta.

You are surrounded by great restaurants and warungs Watercress, LaFinca, Naughty Nuris, Warung Sobat and the beach cafe/bars right out the front of the hotel. We walked along the beach for 15 minutes to get to La Lucciola, Sea Circus, KuDeTa and Mexicola. Mosaic Beach Club was next door but it looked too chi chi for us to visit with a kid.

If you want the W or a 5 star experience you wont like this place. My only hope is that the management of the hotel keep it the way it is and don't succumb to the lure of big dollars by redeveloping the hotel. We loved this Grand Balisani EXACTLY the way it it. It has charm and Balinese character that is a sadly a rare thing.

We travelled as a family with a 7 year old daughter that made 4 friends during our stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in 308 and 309 which were interconnecting standard rooms. Our view was of the garden with...

We love the honeymoon set up that they did, was really surprised us. We had a surprising room upgrade, too. The view was amazing, facing the fresh green garden with ponds. They have a top deal for massage and a very relaxing massage couple room, of course the massage was great too.

We have just returned from a stay at this resort /hotel .it was quiet before the Easter rush. So we had the best attention from all the staff .the pool area is very well kept ,as is all the hotel .it is in a lovely spot right in the beach.our room was fine ,with a little balcony ,air conditioned ,cleaned every day etc .we ended up eating here more than we anticipated as everyone was so sweet and really made an effort on the " special " nights for entertainment etc .yes the music was a tad cheesy ,but the food was always delicious and very well cooked and presented .this goes for restaurant breakfast and bar snacks too .it may be a little more than you would pay up the street ,but a couple of nights we were happy to stay and lounge around the pool area .there are some decent restaurants up the road ,and shacks along the beach too ..but the sunsets were a bonus from the hotel beachfront at happy hour .
The free courtesy bus was a bonus as it is a little away from the main shopping areas if that is what you are looking for .it will take you all the way into Kuta ,waterbom park etc .most of all the friendly staff made us feel so welcome ,nothing was too much trouble .we had our 16 yr old son with us and he loved it too ,jumping in the surf ,boogie boarding etc and as many smoothies and iced coffees as he could take ( and maybe a sip or two of my lime crush ( capriosca) ) at sunset !
My husband would agree with the guy about some of the music ,however a couple of nights we had a different band who are actual musicians and don't rely on backing tapes .but they were all fun .it is not our first visit to Bali ,,but Ist at this hotel . We would definitely go back or recommend .say hi to Isayk xx

Room Tip: We were on the second floor ,the room facing the fish pond still had wifi ,when we moved to other si...

We liked everything, except for the music around the pool day AND night. Has it ever occurred to the Balisani management that when people choose a hotel BY the beach, it might be because they enjoy listening to the murmur of the surf? And not to some cheap muzak or to processed "traditional" music?

There were also the ubiquitous Germans securing "their" sunloungers at dawn by spreading their towel (or bribing the staff?), which made it impossible to even dream of approaching the swimming pool from 8.00 am onwards, but that seems to be inevitable.

The staff was lovely and the breakfast succulent.

This place is wonderful. Right on the beach with spectacular views. The pool area is spotless as is the service from staff. Food and drink prices are similar to a much lesser resort maybe because of its location nearby a cheap beach bar nearby but I can honestly say I will hate checking out tomorrow. rooms are clean and modern. Again staff are so friendly and helpful. Will be back as soon as I can and will tell my friends when I get back home. Ben Little

Nice hotel with a spacious garden area directly on the beach. It needs some touch up to be a real 4 star hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious clean rooms. Breakfast buffet was OK. Some more choice (Cheese, more fruits) would be a real upgrade.
Pool appears large but a big part is too flat for swimming. Afternoon occasionally some mamut loudspeakers have been built up near the pool and music by a so called DJ was presented for an hour. Result was that many people left the area. Presume this will be adjusted to guests demand. WIFI in public areas worked well. ATM, some minimarkets and plenty of restaurants near by. Will stay there definitely again at an acceptable room rate.
