“best value and spacious”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2014

2 bedroom suite was clean and very spacious; good value for its price. Great ocean front close to beach and quiet. Pool was average and too deep for kids to swim and play freely. Close enough to all the action in kuta. Only bad thing was the showers with no door and water splashed everywhere leaving floor soaked...so annoying. Why is there no shower door? At least design it so that the shower head sprays in the opposite direction of the opening...
Will come back and maybe try the penthouse suite next time

Stayed here for a girls trip. Very clean modern rooms with fantastic facilities. Right across from the beach. Bedding very comfortable. Great place to stay in the area. Close to restaurants and shops. Will be back.

First night at the OCEN was spent in the 2 bedroom suite which was good but not great, Ipod dock was pretty lousy (Its described as a state of the art sound system). Bed was comfortable and spacious.

Breakfast in the morning was your average buffet breakfast but good none the less.

The next nights where spent in the Ocean View Penthouse Suite which was amazing. The view is spectacular and watching the sun go down from up there is fabulous. It doesn't get much better than sitting in the jacuzi with a bintang/burger and music pumping (sound system is much better then the 2/3 bedroom suits.

Cant wait to come back.

Room Tip: Ocean view penthouse suite is fantastic

Found our studio room to be so overcrowded with furniture that we had to push it against each other so we could move in the room. Only a tiny wardrobe and no bedside drawers so no where to store clothes. Spoke to other guests and they were living out of there suitcases.
Bathroom was a mess, Shower just sprayed all over the bathroom so the floor mat had to be used to try and soak up all the water that went everywhere. Could not have any clothes in the bathroom at the same time.
The pool area was very disappointing. The depth of the pool was the same all the way which meant you had to be a very tall person to be able to stand in it. Most people had to rest against the edge or sit on noodles. Also the only way into the water was by ladder - no steps. Having been to Bali lots of times and stayed at different hotels in the area I would certainly not be back here and would not even recommend it to others, especially as it is a pricey place

Pros: Next to the beach with large, modern rooms.

Cons: Lack of attention to detail in the rooms and air cons are not large enough to properly cool the rooms. We had in on 17 degrees the whole time but rooms was still not very cool.

For the most part, this is not a bad place at all to stay at in the area. Great if you want extra space. I just wish they would do a better job of maintaining the property to what it really could be.

Plus: the rooms were huge and the beddings were really comfortable; great staff - friendly and helpful; the lobby looks simple but the rest of the hotel is beautifully designed!

Minus: breakfast was so-so. on our last night, our sink, shower and toilet bowl turned black from sand creeping in from the faucets. they were not able to fix it but they gave us access to another room for use of the bathrooms. i hate their shower enclosure - why can't they have doors? the floor gets all wet and slippery after using the showers.

We had a 3 bedroom suite at Outrigger, and whilst happy with the room, very disappointed with the quality of care and service. One bedroom had a faulty air con and after 4 requests to have it repaired, there was still no solution to this issue. For the money we spent on our accom, you expect to get better service. We found the reception staff to not be very helpful, and there was no follow up from them to see if the aircon was now functioning. The hotel itself is looking very tired and grotty on the outside of the buildings. The gardens and grounds are well maintained. The breakfast was very nice. Overall our stay was soured by the poor service.

Guest Relations... O, General Manager at FuramaXclusive Ocean Beach, responded to this review, 3 April 2014
Dear Caroline

Thank you for taking time to write about your experience with us. I'm sorry your stay was less than satisfactory. We've conducted an internal review on air-con maintenance and responses. Much of the exterior of the hotel has been cleaned and painted since you were here. Thank you again for your understanding. Your review has been useful to us. Thank you
