We had a wonderful family holiday and the staff at the villa were always very attentive and helpful to our needs, especially as we had 2 children under 3 years travelling with us. The villa and pool where in the perfect location for a quite holiday but only a 10 minute walk to Legian beach. An added bonus was the daily breakfast which certainly set us up for the day. We would recommend the villa to any of our family or friends a wonderful time was had by all.

“Rough start ended up brilliant!”
Reviewed 3 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We arrived late at night and on arrival we exited the transport in a dingy back ally with puddles everywhere to drag our suitcases through. We were not sure what to expect so this was a little daunting. Entering the villa we were disappointed to find our bedding arrangements had not been met. We had 6 adults, three children and two infants and there were only enough beds for 8 people. One bed missing and two portacots. As it was near midnight the villa staff didn't know what to do and couldn't really help us. We were upset and thought we had made a terrible mistake. We did finally get the two portacots, highchair and stroller once Nyoman popped in. He seemed to get everyone organised and was the only time we saw him.

The villa clearly states the 4th bedroom with the bunks is tiny and they are right. It would have been okay for our 8yo and 6yo if there was an internal door from our bedroom to the bunk room but there isn't. They were too frightened to sleep out there so my husband bunked out there alone and the kids slept in with me. This set-up would be perfect for teenage children but with little kids it was a little hard.

The staff we would commend the most was Ayu our morning breakfast cook, Becky the wonderful masseuse and professional pamperer and our house cleaners. The driver, Putu, was good too but make sure you book in advance otherwise grabbing a taxi from Jl Legian is the way to go.

The photos of the pool are out of date. The 'grass' area is now filled with pavers and rocks and the tiles of the living area get very slippery. Again not great for little kids. We all had a slip at one time or another. Nothing some non-slip mats wouldn't fix. The pool doesn't get a huge amount of sun but that really suited us. We hired a pool fence which was well worth it and fit in with the surroundings. It was beautiful!

The location once you get your bearings is amazing if you don't want to be right in the thick of it. A short walk down an alley and you are on Jl Legion and another 5 minute walk to Jl Padma. Taxi rides to Bintang Supermarket in Seminyak were cheap as and to Kuta wasn't much more. There is chemist and little shops very close by for supplies. I do recommend taking little torches for night time in the alley. It was only scary the first night - after that we felt completely safe but a little light would of helped on the walks home.

If you head down Jl Padma to the beach and turn left at the end, then head to the sand via the carpark on the left there is a little beach chair hire place and a young man called 'Sammie" works there. He was amazing witht he kids and looked after us well. He even took us on a tour to Ubud on another day. He speaks English well and offered us advise when my daughter fell ill.

Overall we loved our stay, if not a little rocky at the start it was certainly worth it in the end! We all said we would rebook here in a heartbeat!

Thank you so much for staying and for your feedback and we are so glad you had a fantastic holiday and stay in Villa JES. It was a bit of a bumpy start as our new manager didn't have your bedding correct but after Nyoman fixed this up for you, you had a great time. Look forward to seeing you next time :)
