We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights the pictures look great but once we arrived the room was not as show this was disappointing as the location is great and the staff very helpful. cleanliness was of low standard shower was leaking the whole time dust everywhere in our room and a smell coming from the toilet was just adding to the experience. Not value for money compared to other hotels in the area. Would not stay again

My 16yo daughter and I stayed at the Bali Mandira for 7 nights in September after having this resort recommended to us by friends and we absolutely loved it! This was our first time in Bali so we spent a lot of time researching lots of resorts and are pleased to say that it was every bit as good as the photos showed and lived up to all the positive reviews.
The staff were all lovely and so friendly and really made you feel welcome. The pools are fantastic, and the grounds are immaculate. It all just adds to the wonderful relaxing feel of this resort.
We stayed in a deluxe cottage which was great. Plenty of room for the two of us, and we loved the outdoor shower room.
Drinks and snacks by the pool were very reasonably priced, and it is so convenient to be able to charge everything to your room and just keep on reading / relaxing / swimming! Buffet breakfast was fantastic - heaps to choose from - and our favourite was the banana pancakes...yum!!
This resort is in the best location, right on the beach, and within walking distance to plenty of shops and restaurants.
We absolutely loved our time at the Bali Mandira and would happily return and/or recommend it to others.

The Mandira Spa and resort was an absolute great choice.

My family of 7 visited Bali and because the kids love the beach we decided to book here the price is a little higher but if you add up all the taxi fares, waiting in the hot sun I found that this was more suitable for my family also they had some pretty good deals at the moment. The rooms are great and the service is really nice the staff are o friendly but the thing I would like to highlight is the new pool AMAAAZING it’s great the kids loved the new slid and where on it almost the whole day great for me and my wife gave us some ‘us time’.

Thank you to Radu the GM who takes the time and introduces himself to all the guests to all the great staff who work at the Borong bar I did not have to leave my chair once the service is amazing also a big thank you to the staff at the Parasol restaurant thank you for organising the sunset dinner for my wife and I it was definitely a great moment.

The Mandira is an great hotel the location is perfect book here and you will be very glad you did so.

My husband and I just returned from 10 days at this lovely resort and cannot wait to return.
We were booked into a superior room which we were happy with, however I agree with other reviewers, the rooms are very basic. Older style furnishings and the bathrooms are in need of a revamp.
Our room was large, with a day bed type area, under the window with throw cushions on it. No view.
The superior rooms are located in a building at the side of the resort, with cottages etc running down the middle to the pool.
We checked out the next level of accommodation, the deluxe cottage, and decided to upgrade. As we were there for more than a few nights we thought we would enjoy the extra comforts of the cottage.
Our cottage had an 'outdoor style' shower, which had a netting roof over it.
Mozzies weren't much of an issue, we kept the bathroom door shut and burnt mozzie coils.
The bed was comfortable (not as hard as you normally get in Asia), air con worked well, and the TV had plenty of channels to choose from including cable.
Only thing that could be an issue is if you get inconsiderate neighbours as the adjoining style cottage we had, allowed a bit of noise through. Our neighbours weren't too bad though so it wasn't an issue for us.
Breakfast was lovely. They alternated different foods everyday, so you got French toast one morning, waffles the next, hash browns vs potatoes etc. Staff on the omelette/pancake station made the BEST omelettes and banana pancakes.
If you like a coffee with breaky, take your own from home, as Bali coffee is bad! The tea was nice.
I have no idea why some people would complain about the breakfast on this site, I have had many a buffet breaky in Asia, and this one is one of the best. Some people like to whinge for the sake of it I think. Sure, sometimes things run out, ask for them to be topped up and be patient! You are in Bali! On vacation! There's no rush!
On that note, my husband and I noted the rude, demanding and undeserved behaviour from a number of different guests towards the beautiful staff. Please, show some respect! They are lovely people and do a great job.
I must say, all the staff at this resort are wonderful, friendly, happy people. Congratulations to management for selecting, training and maintaining such a high standard of customer service.
Nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was cleaned well, at a decent time, daily.
We had room service a couple of times, it was very reasonably priced, prompt and enjoyable.
The pools are beautiful. The new pool has something for young and older to enjoy and the infinity pool upstairs was a peaceful escape if you needed it.
Drink and food prices are very reasonable, and the cocktails are yummy!
The pizzas are freshly made and delicious for lunch by the pool.
We found there were always plenty of lounge chairs by the pool, although, there could be a few more umbrellas on the grassy area as it gets HOT.
I saw 2 weddings take place while here, and they both looked well managed events in a beautiful setting.
The resort is steps from the beach where you can get a cold drink for spare change, massages and chat to the locals if you want a change of scenery from the resort.
There are plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, salons and market shops just out the gate and turn right.
Posers restaurant across the street on the corner is great. Good value, great food and good service.
Walk along the beach path, to the right of the resort and it will take you to Seminyak (15 min stroll) and another group of lovely restaurants. (Check out my review of De javu)
If you go along beach path to the right, it will take you into Kuta (15 min stroll)
Cabs to most places are cheap, get metered taxis (Bluebird) couple of dollars to Kuta if it's too hot to walk!
We booked a cab to the airport via the tour desk, $10
Internet was free throughout the resort, yes it could be patchy and was out for a whole day during our stay. Small inconvenience but remember, this is Bali, not the CBD and you are on vacation!
The resort grounds are very well maintained, the staff work hard everyday, in the heat, watering, pruning and making sure the gardens are immaculate with beautiful tropical plants and flowers. Oh, and stop and watch the cute squirrels playing in the gardens and pinching fruit from the 'offerings'
In summary, I cannot think of any really negative things to say about Bali Mandira.
Thank you for a wonderful time, see you again soon!

Room Tip: Definitely upgrade your room if you can.
