We stayed in a cottage suite for 10 days, they are very large rooms, 1st one was on the second floor (7days) then we extended our stay so we had to change rooms still in a cottage suite but on the ground floor. The hotel is very large, has 3 swimming pools with lovely gardens, hotel staff very very pleasant and helpfull. Although it was school holidays never had any problems with it being noisy. Breakfast was good same as most hotels - egg station was super fast - overall is a good hotel for price we paid

Hi I have been to bali about 10 times and stayed at numerous resorts all over the island and the strong points about this hotel are: Huge bedrooms and very comfy KING beds and the bathrooms are huge with 2 showers!! The location is great, you can walk to many cafes on the beach as the breakfast is the worst I have had so make sure you get it free, the coffee is nescafe incase you like a good morning coff as I do. The Pools are nice and the food at the pool is very good and cheap as are the drinks cheaper compared to other hotels. The staff were friendly and relaxed. I hate i when they dont have a safe box in your room though. Overall for about $80AU per night is a bargain and would not hesitate on staying there again!!

My husband and I have stayed at the Melasti Beach Resort Twice now and we are heading back there in May next year. We couldn't have picked a better hotel, we have visited Bali 5 times and the Melasti is by far the best accomodation we have had, it is great value for money, excellent service and the room service prices are very cheap. Normally in Bali we would buy Bintangs from the store and put them in our bar fridge in the room, at the Melasti we didn't bother as there Bingtangs were so cheap. Breakfast is always good and is served in the restaurant area only metres from the beach. It is in a central location so getting anywhere by Taxi or walking doesn't take long at all. It is a traditonal Balinese hotel which we love and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is after great value for money (couples, families or singles)... :-)

Stayed here for a week in two deluxe rooms. The one thing I liked about the hotel is they put us on ground floor as requested and my son's room next to ours. The rooms are large and in a quiet private spot next to the lap pool. The rooms have lots of potential, however they need painting (dirty walls), furnishings need up-dating (moldy) put some bleach in the wash (brown towels and stained sheets), the blankets were very old, I hated sleeping in the beds, my son got nits, the boys bathroom stunk and was very dark. If your towels were hanging to dry they would fold them and put them on the shelf like you had clean towels, even if they were still wet. Sitting outside the rooms was ok, you wouldn't want to spend time in the room. When we arrived our rooms weren't ready so they put us in temporary room, which was a room someone just checked out of, rubbish everywhere, bed pulled apart, dirty toilet disgusting!! My boys didn't mind it but I could never stay there again. The internet was down the whole time to.

We had to stay here as are last hotel Grand Sindah mucked us up and this was the only hotel which had vacancies in the vacinity .Staff were friendly ,location is great ,rooms where huge stayed in ground floor suite close to beach ,thats about all it has going for it.The place is really outdated though clean, swimming pool is falling apart and they just keep patching it .our bathroom was clean but just patched everywhere.Breakfast was the worse i have had in Bali( eggs were good.)The whole place is filled with really loud Aussies no one else seems to stay there .The pool atmosphere is like being at Bay 13 at the MCG, though my kids thought it was fun. Music they play at the pool is usually loud ACDC or such, that encourages the drinkers at the bar to become loud and unbearable! does not really make it a pleasant Bali experience.Far better places to stay by far....

We just arrived home from the Melasti beach resort last thurs, we were away for 13nights, 2adults & 2children, we had a cottage suite, which was nice, clean and in a good location close to the beach and the restaurant.
It started of to be a great stay, the hotel is old and in good need of a re-vamp but in general its affordable, good size rooms and well maintained gardens. Thats about all my positive views on the hotel...
Lots of negative reviews for us came as the stay went on.
There is no kids club you can leave your kids at, they need a nanny or you to stay with them, its old and hot and stinks, 10mins and we had had enough, which was annoying as its right next to the main pool. My 4year was great swimming, but my 21month old daughter couldnt touch the bottom in the shallow "kids" pool adjoined to a very deep pool. Slippery marble floor and a marble staircase in the pool area that my 21month just wanted to keep running up and down, not relaxing for a parent at all.
The breakfast was nice for the first 3mornings then it was just repetitive and boring, we found ourselves walking to "mugshot" (an aussie coffee shop) most mornings for a good coffee and crossiants.
The childrens playground was an accident waiting to happen, there was a climbing frame up in the corner which had a half metre piece of rusted steel sticking up. very unsafe for the little ones, all the equipment was rusted, dangerous and old.
3nights we were due to check out, we were "robbed" $1100 (aus) was stolen out of our safe. CASH!!! the staff are very dodgy, not our cleaner he was great, this was something going on between the managers, we all went out for dinner 1 night and the next morning the money was gone, I opened our safe to get another $200 out for the day and the whole bundle of our cash was gone, very very disappointed..The Melasti staff were rude and cold when we confronted them, we had the police into the resort and wrote a report and statement.
DONT USE THE SAFE!! I made sure everyone was aware when we checked out......It was dodgy to us because our parents checked into the cottage suite next to us on our arrival and they werent supposed to be next door, they moved to be closer and when they opened their safe, there was a whole heap of cash in $50 and $100 notes, about $2000 - $3000 worth of cash. when we asked the manager what happened to that money there was no reply......put it this way, he had very bad body language towards it.
We put two and two together!!!!
After this had all happened they were cold and couldnt even look us in the eye, never apologised or made our last few days enjoyable. We won't be back, theres too many other nice places to stay!!!

Room Tip: Dont trust the staff....!
