Booked for 8 nights over Christmas new year. First impressions were quite good with clean rooms, good bathroom, good air conditioner and nice pool area. A nice mix of guests over our stay was a bonus. However, our first breakfast was disgusting with hot orange juice, way over cooked poached eggs, toast with melted/separated butter and bali (mud) coffee. Over the stay we learnt different things to order which made it bearable. Paid 6 months in advance ($70) for NYE dinner and they wouldn't honor it and we weren't the only ones. We refused to pay twice and went elsewhere but there were many guest that went only to be severely disappointed. The pool bar cocktails won't even get you tipsy, so not sure what one is drinking. Drink prices around pool were very reasonable with no added tax. Many guests, who had never left the complex got sick so one has to question the hotels hygiene standards. 7 days later, after being sick, sore backs from the bed, poor sleep from lumpy pillows and not interested in any of the food we left a day earlier and spoiled ourselves elsewhere.

Room Tip: Eat elsewhere!!!!

Just had 8 days at Puri Raja with my two sons aged 13 and 10.. The best part about this hotel is the breakfast on the breach. . What a view.. Not many hotels this price has beach views.. staff were great. . We had a twin room with a a rollout .. which turned out to be 3 singles. . Very comfortable room. Great bathroom. .2 great pools. . Walking distance to everything snd a $3 taxi fair to Kuta however its a nice walk.. make sure you try 'Motzarella' restaurant right next to Puri Raja and the other restaurant next to it.. they were fabulous and you can waddle back to bed.. I do recommend Puri Raja ..for the price was excellent

Great location, full of culture, always happy to help, fresh cooked breakfast included and good prices for everything! What more could you want? Sure, it's in need of a little sprucing up (I did see them working on rooms) but its Bali! The gardens are amazing and the pools always super clean. This is my second stay here and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Right on the beach the atmosphere and view for breakfast is great. It is a hotel of choice for many Aussies so there is always someone to chat to around the pool and pick up some great tips on where to eat, sightsee and shop.

Good clean room with all the essentials. Nice pool although they charge too much at the bar, as most hotels do. We ended up having a few around the pool and then heading back to the room verandah to carry on there. Probably upset our neighbours but perhaps they should drop the price around the pool?
The Puri Raja is a great hotel, highly recommended.

Staying here for 10 days, on what was a very average stay, I can safely say it's not exactly worth it. The food is below average. The rooms are mediocre. The only good thing about this place is that the staff are friendly.
This seems to be the place where every 'bogan Aussie' on a budget seems to stay. It's actually quite embarrassing to see how these Aussies act abroad. Rude to the staff, beyond drunk and obnoxious in the pool, and downright rude to other Aussies passing by on the paths. All this was the only thing to make my trip less than what it should have been.

This is my third time staying at Puri Raja and never have I had a bad stay! I personally dont think you could get a better location for the price. The staff are great, very friendly. The rooms are basic but completely addequate for what you need. The pool is always clean and there are ample sun lounges, never a problem to get one. We have stayed in both the superior rooms and the deluxe rooms, and I would stay in either again they are both fine. We will definately stay here again and I would reccomend it without hesitation to friends.

Hi everyone,

Hubby and I stayed at the Puri Raja with friends back in March 2013. On arrival the staff are welcoming but there was a slight language barrier ( no stress). Got our room key only to find it was second floor and hubby at that time suffered a bad back so asked for ground floor room, it was not an issue ( just had to wait to be serviced.) the location of the hotel is the selling point. Right in the beach, easy walking to the fabulous restaurants and right next door to Mozzarellas ( awesome food ).....the front of the hotel is close to little shops, great stalls, and a convenience store.
Yummy restaurants close by and heaps of " Aussie" style pubs ( we went during the AFL season good fun)
The rooms are basic and Clean. If you,re like me and love a fabulous bathroom. You won't find it here. Look it's got shower a loo do your bits that it!
Two pools, cocktail one is at the beach end, larger pool near the front of the hotel.
Ana,s laundry is across the road to your left and down a lane-way, cheap and clothes come back smelling scrumptious.
The gardens are delightful very tropical and well maintained.
All in all, if you want a clean room, great brekky ( no buffet but you can choose from the menu and there is truck loads to choose from) walking distance to great shops and awesome restaurants then visit the Puri Raja ( means Kings house) you won't be disappointed.
