Hotel layout was very good, it felt like an exotic place with excellent service. Nice small pool but no pool bar. Did not get a double bed, had to sleep in 2 singles. Booked 11 months ago but when we arrived at 2am our rooms were not ready. Although they gave us a room straight away, we had to move the next day to our booked rooms.
Hotel was in an excellent location, Massage place at the front, shopping and transport out the very front of hotel. Minimart and ATM all within 1min walk.
We only ate breakfast at hotel but food was great every time

We reserved the room ahead of time for only one night.
We arrived in Bali around 1am and walked around looking for a cheaper/better place before checking in, but everything was closed and we were tired. We stayed there for the night and woke up early had the free breakfast and look for another place, which we found.
Location: it was good and central to legian, 5 min walk to the beach in a quiet area tucked away.
Room: It was simple, had aircon, TV, clean towels, and a small desk. The room was located on the second floor. We added a matress on the floor for a fee. Linens were stained. No WIFI in the rooms
Bathroom: poor, for a $50 room I expect a better bathroom, it looked old.
Breakfast: I though breakfast was good and big enough for me. there were 3 choices to choose from. Coffee was bad... orange juice is not fresh.
Pool: We didn't use it because we left, but it looked nice and clean.
Grounds: The gardens were nice and rooms in the first floor could enjoy them from their terrace.
The budget rooms are about $50 USD and are not a good value. I think if you stay in the first floor and have a terrace is better, but more expensive. No WIFI and Internet was extra

Room Tip: Get rooms on the first floor to enjoy the terrace and grounds.

I have stayed at the Suriwathi Hotel in Legian Village on several occassions and can highly recommend the place for a quiet and enjoyable holiday. The location is close to the Beach, to Kuta (15 minutes walk) to Seminyak (20 minutes) and plenty of reputable restaurants minutes away from the Hotel along Jalan Sahadewa and on Jalan Padma. The grounds of the Hotel are laid out beautifully and creates a peaceful Balinese environment. The new units available are quite comfortable and well appointed. There is also a modest size swmming pool on the premises, and Restaurant facilities are also available. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We were a party of three and we stayed there on 3-6 May 2010.

Maybe we were just unlucky to have given the room on the left corner of the 2nd level. We tried to look for another place around Legian area to stay in, but it was peak season and decent hotel rooms were hard to find, then. The only good things about our so-called room were the beddings - at least they were clean and freshly changed.

When you're inside the room, door can be secured by a tiny bolt, nothing else. There wasn't even a door knob. From the outside, you can use a small key to secure your belongings inside.

The bathroom/toilet has a rainforest shower that's 24hrs COLD. Bali weather isn't winter-like but in an air-conditioned room and an adjoining bathroom, taking a cold shower is a goddamned torture! Not to mention the molds and heaven-knows-what stains on the bathroom tiles. By the way, be prepared to leave your towels and your clothes outside the bathroom; there's no hook whatsoever inside!

The corridors and the staircase becomes too dark at night. In case of fire, the wisest choice would be to jump from the 2nd floor balcony, that is if you can find a way out of your room. What if you need help of room service since there were no phones, no intercoms. Well if you scream at the top of your lungs people at the reception might hear you, a good 200 meters away.

Breakfast is ok if you're into grease-soaked ham or bacon and egg that was fried on the same ham/bacon oil plus 1 pc of toast and bali instant coffee.

If you're into hanging out by the pool or at the cafeteria while read all the interesting books in the shelf, then you're going to have a grand time.

Very small cafe/restaurant and only serve breakfast which there is not a great selection to choose from, but as there are so many other eateries close by it wasn't a problem.
This hotel is owned by a family that also have the beauty salon next door, i had a massage every day, nails, ear-wax( a first ) with the lovely friendly staff there, Legions is across the road, where I ate almost every day, awesome food and staff.

Only stayed one night, was great value, nice grounds and pool. 550.000 for deluxe room - would stay again but my friend said the shower was not so great.

Room Tip: Deluxe is very cheap and probably worth while..
