The local area is very busy and there are many beggars including children waiting for tourists especially Australians. I was frequently offered drugs and sex when walking down the main street and retail shop workers can be extremely pushy to the point of harassment so would recommend staying outside Kuta if looking for something quiet. The hotel was good though

I must say that the best observation for the hotel was; clean, modern design, hi-tech equipment, friendly Staff and accessible to leisure areas. I like the landscape of the garden and different pool areas which really ease guests to enjoy the facilities.

I spent one week at Pullman Legian
The staff is just perfect.... not only friendly but they give you an attentive and personalised attention
Nice room which gives to a beautiful garden
If you like fine dining cuisine, don't hesitate to ask the Chef to prepare you a special dinner. .. I did it and it was wonderful

I was a bit apprehensive before I arrived reading about the touch and go reviews. However, when I arrived, it did seem that most of the issues that I read about were already sorted.
The location of the hotel is at the end of the Legian beach strip but still walkable distance from the hub. The only annoying thing, which is in no control of the hotel, is the one way street it's located on. So if you're taxiing around, it may be economical to get off one end of the street and walk towards the hotel. Ask your driver what works best. Even if you do have driver to take you to the doorstep, the traffic at certain hours could mean upto half an hour of trying to navigate of what could be less than a kilometre of distance.
Check in was smooth and we were in our room very quickly. Got a complimentary upgrade which is always welcome. The hotel site is great and kept well. The room on the other hand seems dated, not an inconvenience...just an observation. For some reason, all the surfaces in the room constantly seemed to be moist. Maybe it's the weather in Bali. The blinds in the bathroom fells off on its own accord one night. Quickly fixed the next day. There was a coffee machine in the room but it was not plugged in or no instructions on how to use it. So I didn't bother.
Had room service on the first night. A few items were not available as it was past midnight. Maybe it would be idea to mention that somewhere on the menu what's not available during late hours. Cocktails are also not available on room service after the bar closes, which I thought a bit odd because the ingredients would have been on site somewhere.
I tried both pools and they were great. Had a treatment at the spa and the whole experience was perfect and relaxing.
Staff were always obliging and greeting us everywhere we went.
Now for the one let down...
Breakfast definitely needs several improvements. Seating at breakfast was fine. However, after that you were sort of forgotten about. Not what I would expect from 5 star service. Nobody explains the layout of the buffet and for Pullman's buffet you would need that explanation because it's just so spread out. Barista coffee was terrible. I don't think they know their lattes from their cappuccinos. We were there for 7 nights and 5 out of 7 mornings we were sat at tables that were not completely set up. On the last morning, they ran out of milk!! I would have loved to hear the story of how a 5 star hotel runs out of milk. The worse part is when we asked for coffee, instead of telling us that they ran out of milk, they were making them with soy milk instead. Maybe they thought people wouldn't notice. They ran out of glasses so we couldn't even serve ourselves juices or water for about 15mins before warm glasses were stacked back on the shelf. There was plenty of staff around but not enough staff that moved quickly when it was busy. It also looked like they had a little social corner in the restaurant where a few of them congregated every now and then to have a bit of a chat. The only reason we had breakfast there all mornings was because of our Advantage Plus discount. If it weren't for that, we wouldn't have bothered.
If they get breakfast right, they've got it nailed.
Had dinner at Sembilan restaurant. The food and service was perfect.
All in all, we were there to relax and the hotel didn't disappoint us in that aspect.

The way to overcome the one way street is for the taxi drivers to use the small lanes & alley ways which connects the hotel with major streets of Kuta and Legian.
