This is a nice, very clean modern hotel. The staff are great as are the cocktails. They also have insured scooters for hire.

If you purchased a Scoopon deal, you will be please, it it great value.

I agree with the other reviewers in that the breakfast is pretty ordinary, most of it very ordinary.

The hotel is badly designed, the pool is in the middle, the restaurant opened into the pool are and that hallways are not carpeted so it is one great echo chamber, and it seems that many of the Asian guests are not to concerned about disturbing the peace. I took earplugs and slept like a baby, but it was annoying at times.

As a firefighter the design of the building is a concern as there is only one fire exit and it is at the back of the hotel and opens into the restaurant and the you have to walk all the way to the front of the hotel for the final exit to the street, and as the hotel if fitted with heat defectors instead of smoke detectors and there are no sprinklers if a fire occurs it will be in a advanced stage before detected, if it is the kitchen/restaurant area, or any of the rooms other than right at the front you could find jumping, using the lift (risky as) or waiting for the fireys to come and rescue you, and I don't like any of those three options.

In saying that there is nothing I cold see that was a fire risk and there is an alarm system.

Positioned on Melasti St, the Rivavi is in a great position for shopping. The room we stayed in was quite small, but clean and well appointed and we could not complain considering the reasonable room rate. Buffet breakfast was not very elaborate but prefectly adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The down side was the noise. Staff (and even children one night) calling out to each other and running up the corridors at 2am, plus noisy breakfast preparations another morning. Frustrating but not earth shattering.
If you keep in mind that this is a hotel and not a resort, then I don't think you will be disappointed. For a few days of shopping in Bali, the Rivavi is ideal.

The hotel in general was fairly good..I bought a Scoopon which was 5 nights for 2 people for only $200 so for that price it was very reasonable! The staff were all very friendly and the room was clean. Its a newish hotel so it was in good order...The breakfast was Ok but was in a small room at the end of the pool area and people were smoking in there..A few mornings we decided to eat elsewhere which you dont mind when the accom price is so good..The pool is only small and pretty much enclosed from any sun so if you are after a lazing by the pool holiday..this is not it! The water was very clean and very refreshing! All in all a good hotel if you are after a quick shopping trip not for the 2 weeker stay.

Room Tip: Can be pretty noisy if you get a room on the ground floor near the restaurant area

Like many others have mentioned, this hotel is in a great location - only a 5 minute walk to the beach and plenty of pubs and restaurants only a stones throw away.
We spent 7 nights at the hotel and the only disapointing things were the lighting in the room being very poor and the pool is not very appealing.
The hotel was clean, and we had a room facing the street so it had a large window which let light in during the day. Noise was not really an issue.
The shower did leak water over the bathroom floor, but this was no problem for us, we just spend a minute clearing the water with the bath towel.
Breakfast was nothing special, but there was always plenty of choice.
Personally, i would probably look at hotel with a better pool set up and sun lounges if i returned to Bali, but we enjoyed our stay and found the hotel to be good value.

This hotel is in a great location, but I don't think I'll return. The staff are all lovely, but I just found that it wasn't the nicest place to stay. The rooms were very dark which I found really annoying! I wasn't a huge fan of the pool, as it's located in the middle of the hotel, so there isn't much sunlight & all the balcony hotel rooms face towards the pool. We spent as much time away from the hotel as possible because it's not a very social place to stay, but as a bonus, the beds are REALLY comfy!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel seem brighter inside.

We stayed five nights here and loved it. Was walking distance to everything we wanted. Coffee shop across the road and Commonwealth Bank just around the corner from there.

The breakfast was great..changed each day and variety...when you arrive in the breakfast area ask the staff for your eggs, anyway you want them, can request mushroom and bacon too. It is a smoking area although we never had anyone smoke while we had breakfast.

We stayed in room 123, it has no opening window but we did not care. The bed is huge and comfy, comfy pillows...so clean...the shower does leak water onto the floor...not complaining about that...it is a bathroom where there is water...just move the bathmat over and the water runs into the drain.

The aircon is great. The hotel is quiet. The staff were very friendly. Booked our tours though here too. Didn't use the internet. The lighting is not bright.

We will be staying here next time we go to Bali. No complaints from us. Great hotel.

New hotel- very modern and clean Staff were very helpful. Negative comment would be that there was only one window in our room which looked out at another wall- very low wattage lighting, which made it hard to read, did speak to management about this and this has been one of the common complaints and is being reviewed. Now if you want a good nights sleep- the mattresses were so good that you had the best nights rest. Close to restaurants and markets in Melasti Street. .Coffee shop on the corner opposite the Rivavi also does a great breakfast and coffee. Would definitely stay here again at some time

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms overlooking the pool area. They have a small balcony.
