We previously stayed at the Jayakarta Hotel 2 years ago and in my review I said that the rooms were looking a bit tired. This year our stay there was excellent. We were in a room in block 3 facing the dining room which was close to the pool. The room itself was tidy and clean and a vast improvement from the room 2 years ago. Staff were efficient and polite and the grounds are still excellent. The location is perfect for us. Good value for money

We had the one bedroom apartment with fold out sofa bed for our 16 year old. The room was very small and the sofa bed very uncomfortable. We were not to far from the road at the entry of hotel but very far away from the breakfast area and the beach. The breakfast was very ordinary and long lines if you wanted eggs or omelets and the bacon was hard and over cooked. If you walk down to the beach and walk down to the right there are some great restaurants" Lanai " ",Flying Fish", "Tekor" and walk a little further opposite bungee jump is the " Sandpit " which is on the Beach. We hired motorbike drivers to get us around which is much faster and safer than riding them your self and much quicker than Taxi's. Loved the area but not the Hotel although staff very nice.

Room Tip: Request close to pool.

After reading some of the reviews on this hotel I was unsure what I would find. We were there in May this year 2011. Loved the place, friendly staff, (because we we friendly to them ) it is only a three Star hotel, rooms were a good size, bathroom was good with shower over bath, plenty of hot water, on the beach, 3 pools, 1 sunset bar, swim up bar, 2 min walk from other restaraunts , 2 mins to shops, bank, ATM, free shuttle to Kuta central, rooms cleaned very well every day. We could not fault it, if you expect 5 star don't go to this part of Bali, try Nusa Dua at 4 times the price with no local influence. Try it it's great.

This was my second trip to Bali, let me say Legian is a much better place to be than the busling Kuta.

I stayed at the Jayakarta and found it to be a good experience. The staff were helpful and the location, about 10 minutes walk from Kuta and 1 minute to the beach was great.

Whilst not the most modern hotel in Bali, it was comfortable enough with reasonable air con.

If your looking for a hotel that provides good value, a better position and friendly staff stay at the Jayakarta

When entering the Jayakarta hotel (and apartments), the view is pleasant and grand ... the atmosphere and buildings are very balinese ... the garden is green and luscious... there's a lot of families staying here ... both international and indonesian tourists.

From the lobby you can see that this hotel is literally by the beach ... just walk pass the pools and you'll meet the legian beach right away... this is what I love most ...

I've spent all my mornings staying here taking a walk on the beach... there's so much to see... beach boys prepare for the day, people take their morning exercise, some of them walk their dogs too, ... some of them even ride a horse!

The downside from this hotel is that it's old. I can imagine that it would look fancy in the 80/90s ... but, still...
The room where I stayed is quite dark and shady as it is quite far away from the bright-and-jolly pool area. The TV is old and the channels are often disrupted with little variation. Luckily, I spent most of my time outside anyway ... so this doesn't matter.
