“JAYAKARTA APARTMENTS BALI”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2012

We have stayed at the Jayakarta Resort Apartments several times and love the resort and the location is fantastic. It backs onto the famous Legian Beach and is surrounded by great restaurants and shopping. The last time we were there we stayed in a privately owned apartment in apartment block A (room number 6202) and it was fantastic. It looks like it has been recently renovated and had every thing you would ever need in the room. The cleaner came every day supplying clean towels, fresh refrigerated water from the dispenser, perfectly made beds and a sparkling clean apartment. I would not hesitate to stay there again. Having e-mailed and asked for a room facing the front of the hotel we were delighted to have been given this. It is much better than a room facing the back wall. Rooms are old and tierd and look a bit dirty but this is more to do with the oldness of the room rather than the cleanliness. Rooms are cleaned daily with the floors mopped and the bed linen changed. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Excellent facilities where you can have breakfast in the outside area of the restaurant facing the beach, great swimming pools and magnificent grounds. Great to have a beer on the beach at sunset and then just cross the road and you are in the hotel grounds. Great security at both front and back gates. Have stayed here many times and feel it is great value for money.

Room Tip: E-mail Jayakarta when you have confirmed your bookings and request a room facing the front of the Ho...

On arriving at the Hotel we were disappointed with our rooms. We had 2 delux rooms with an ajoining door. The resort is old and tired, chipped tiles, dirty water when I first used the hand basin in the bathroom. Although this did clear up and did not occur agian. The next morning I complained to reception and they were reluctant to do anything about it. Eventually, after persisting we were show another room but this was no better. After a few days the rooms didn't seem so bad. The main thing was that they were cleaned daily. The resort itself is ideally located right on the beach and within walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. The grounds are magnificant and other facilities are good. Breakfast provided daily was really good, although not much variation. All in all, for the price it was a good place to stay and we had a great time. Just don't expect 4 star and the photos are a bit deceiving. Raymond's bar on the beach is a great place to have a beer on sunset, but expect to be hassled to buy stuff. All good fun, the kids had a ball.

Room Tip: We were in block 5, bit of a walk to the pool and breakfast but nice and quiet.

To start off I have to say that our rooms was double booked and we were sent to another hotel which was horrible. But within a few days we were back at jayakarta. This trip was a family trip and we had booked 3 apartments for all of us, but because of the booking issues we ended up with 2 aprtments and 1 deluxe room. This meant that the family was spilt up (opposite ends of the resort).

However, I was put in the deluxe room which I really enjoyed. It was very close to the pool and beach and was good quality and very clean. The rest if the family was in apartment which were bigger but I believed that they weren't as good quality and they smelt like mould.

In saying this the ground are immaculately kept and the service we revived whilst there was great! Breakfast was held in 2 of the restaurants and catered to everyone. this is a very kid friendly hotel and the location is good (just outside the nightclub area but not to far away)

Room Tip: Try to get a room near the pool ( not an apartment). Deluxe triple rooms are small but are located i...

To be across the road from the beach is a big plus...add to this great selection of food for breakfast, two good sized pools and many rooms with sit out balcony and you have a great place to stay. We did not have to leave bags or clothes on the beach, because we could walk across the road in our togs and on to the beach. Staff helpful and friendly. All ages and stages were staying at this hotel. Why go to the beach and stay some distance away ?

This is my third stay at the Jayakarta and didn't disappoint. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a place that is not too expensive, close to great shopping, restaurants and the beach. The rooms are getting old and not very flash but they are clean and very comfortable. The staff are helpful and friendly the breakfast is great and the pool area is one of the best I have ever stayed in. Massages are great and really well priced and conviently located poolside! This would have to be one of the best placed to stay if you want value for money and you are not too fussed if your room is flash! You really don't spend that much time in your room when you are in Bali anyway. This is a large resort but was surprisingly quiet, we never heard any other guest even though the resort was pretty full. My husband and I loved the place and will be back again!

Room Tip: We had a delux room.

Rented a one bedroom apartment in Jayakarta Residence from e bay. It was fantastic. Full use of resort facilities. The resort was beautiful. Three pools, a variety of restaurants and beautiful grounds. Beach frontage. I usually stay in Kuta but as I went alone I decided to try Legian. I will never stay in Kuta again. Legian has retained it's Balinese culture and architecture and I loved it. Nice and quiet but close to everything. The room was clean and it was fantastic to have a refrigerator, sink etc with cooking facilities. Also had two tv's and two dvd"s and internet access. Highly recommended.
