We recently ate a meal at the reasturant. Picked it as it was close to where we where staying. Ordered a simple dish of Nacho's as I wasn't very hungry. Cost 50000Rupee which felt expensive by bali standards. Meal arrived, 20 cold plain corn chips, desert spoon of melted cheese and several packets of tomatoe sauce. Black paste covering about 5 square cm on bottom of plate under Corn chips which I assume was beans. Couldn't eat it.

This is a must stay budget resort. Staff were amazing, 2 great big pools. Never had to wait for service, staff were always on hand. Rooms were clean, not overly big but big enough for 2 easily. Change Australian $$$ at reception at a great rate. Right on the beach which was handy although was a bit far from Kuta for us but may suit others.

This hotel has a prime position on the beach, with easy walking to many restaurants, shopping and other activities. Let down by the old worn out look, lack of investment in the infrastructure, and the general attitude that location is enough. It's not. The prices are ridiculous around the pool, the threat of forbidding people to bring food or drink into the hotel, and the attitude of security staff are all negatives. We won't go back.

This resort is in a great location in Bali...Good large pools, swim up pool though drinks on the expensive side considering you can exit to the beach within 10 meters and get a bintang for $2AU...private apartment Just standard bed/kitchen but updated and a/c worked well.... Lots of places out of the resort to eat, with variety and reasonably priced....would stay again value for money

Just came back from 2 weeks at the Jayakarta, we booked a private apartment through Max and Suzanne Taylor, www.puketoki.com. This was our second stay here but decided this time to book it ourselves and had a absolutely wonderful time. Breakfast isn't included but the apartments are cheaper booking privately and breakfast outside is cheap or you can get groceries from the Bintang Supermarket and make your own, milk and small items are available just outside the front gate . They also supply your drinking water and immediately fix any problems. Sure the hotel needs updating but it is totally adequate and if they do update the prices will go up. The grounds are beautiful, one pool was closed but there are 2 other large pools. The water in the pools is warmer than Australia but it's because of the heat there. The only downfall we found were the sellers on the street, we have been going to Bali for 25 years and find them to be getting more and more pushy and sometimes aggressive. Will go back, had a ball. Tip: Go to Ketut's fixed price shop - Heading along Garlic Lane from Jl Padma, its the last Lane on the left before you get to Jl Melasti. Head down the lane and its the shop on the shops on the next corner. she has 3 shops plus 'The Shed' where all the surf wear is. Men's Billabong tees $4.00 Great quality.

Room Tip: Try to get on the top floor rooms/apartments, people on top of you can be totally inconsiderate with...

Just spent 6 nights at Jayakarta room opposite pool, great spot. The hotel is in great location and staff are great, couple downsides though, toilets near pool area really need fans and upgrade, terrible smell. Un fortunately one pool was getting repairs and other pools became very busy, but area coped well. The room itself is good although bathroom sink isn't great as the shelf above protrudes and you have to bend around to wash face, teeth. the bar area near pool great but could I suggest different cocktail special each day, same one over and over and then running out of supplies and substituting isn't good...the breakfast is good and wholesome, cant fault that. So great spot near beach and walking distance to most things but really needs upgrade.

First of all, excellent location! Great for those wanting to be 'amongst it' and on the beach, without being in overcrowded Kuta.

We stayed in one of the Deluxe rooms facing the beach in May 2014. I'd stayed at the hotel twice before, but over ten years ago - and since then many things have declined. The room we stayed in was dirty - lolly wrappers under the bed, a bathroom that hadn't been cleaned properly, stains on the floor and bed sheets, and worn, scratched and chipped furniture. The worst thing was the lighting - there were no lamps in the rooms, only down-lights with cold globes in them, so once they were turned on the room looked bleak and hospital-like (not very romantic!).

However, the rest of the grounds are lovely. Landscaped gardens, nice big pools (one is currently closed for maintenance, but any maintenance is good!), charming Indonesian style architecture. The breakfast is decent (although a coffee machine would be handy instead of just drip coffee), and the service throughout our stay was friendly and attentive.

If the rooms got an update and were maintained better, this would be an excellent resort for families and couples all-round.
