“Nice grounds, awful rooms”
Reviewed 7 June 2014 via mobile

We stayed at the Jayakarta for 5 nights, and were disappointed with the state of our room. It was dark and old and not what we had expected. I'm not sure if we were perhaps situated in an older part of the hotel, because it is a large resort, but the room was definitely in need of a touch up.
Breakfast time was chaotic. Not enough tables for all the guests and we had to wait around on a few occasions. The selection of food was inferior to that I've had at other resorts in Bali.
However, the gardens are nice, and there are 3 large swimming pools which were great. The hotel is located right on the beach and within close walking distance to loads of restaurants, beach bars and shopping. Even Seminyak is within walking distance. Over all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I won't be staying here again if I return to Bali.

After some excellent help from TIC Bali, we decided to look into the private residences organised by TIC Bali at the Jayakarta Bali. Not only was it a really good hotel to stay in, the room was very nicely appointed with flat screen TVs in both the sitting room and bedroom, a DVD player, airconditioning in both rooms a medium sized fridge and basic cooking facilities. The Jayakarta certainly isn't the most luxurious of Bali's resorts, but proved to be more than adequate for our needs. Three pools, one with a swim up bar, a couple of restaurants and other facilities are comparable with other hotels of this class in Legian. Added to this, the help provided by Putu and his staff at TIC really rounded off another excellent time in Bali.

More the shame that I am unable to give TIC Bali a separate review, as the level of customer service provided by Putu and his team was unsurpassed and coming from a nation where nothing is too hard to too much for a guest, such praise is not easily given. Even the smallest of our needs were met with a smile and his genuine warmth and kindness were a true blessing.

I can easily recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a typical Bali style hotel and have no hesitation in recommending TIC Bali for not only the private room but for any activities whilst here.

Room Tip: the private apartments as arranged by TIC Bali are superior in all aspects to the standard rooms. R...

We have recently returned from a 2 week stay in the Garrisons apartment 6202 located in the Jayakarta resort. I cannot say enough about the quality of this apartment and the furnishings. It accomodates a family of 4 very easily and comfortably. The apartment was very clean and well presented and was of much higher quality than the regular apartments in the Jayakarta. The resort itself has everything that you would want. The grounds are beautiful, the pools are excellent (in which there are 3). The location is perfect, lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend the Garrisons appartment and the location of the Jayakarta resort. We will definately be returning in the near future.

Just back from a great holiday staying at the private apartment of the Garrisons 6202. We did a fair bit of research before going and were lucky to find the reviews on this privately owned apartment that did not disappoint us. The room was well set up for a family of four, with plenty of space, clean, two great air conditioners and a water dispenser. The owners were extremely helpful before we left and answered any questions we had. Friends stayed in other rooms owned by the Jayakarta hotel and they were certainly not in the same league as our room. We will be back for sure, great location and plenty of pool space for everyone. I would highly recommend doing your research into the privately owned apartments.

my second stay in jayakarta after so many years, the room is still very old and outdated.
The tv set in the room will make a collector want to buy it. The bedside and table lamp cover is looking dirty as hell that I feared if I touch it the dust will fly everywhere,

The floor and bed is clean though. Bathroom is another story, it looks really outdated, cracks here and there on the corner of the rooms and ceilings. Doesn't really look clean and the bathtub curtain is definitely looking dirty.

The breakfast is quite okay with a very long queue of the egg stations (especially if you come a bit late), selection is quite basic but you'll come out filled (bread, juice, eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes, noodles, rice, etc). The pool is very good, since they have 2 large pools and 1 kiddy pools and a direct access to the beach, this is in my opinion is the only redeeming feature of the hotel. Staffs were polite (average).

But I wouldn't recommend people to stay here unless there's no other choice available in the area

We recently ate a meal at the reasturant. Picked it as it was close to where we where staying. Ordered a simple dish of Nacho's as I wasn't very hungry. Cost 50000Rupee which felt expensive by bali standards. Meal arrived, 20 cold plain corn chips, desert spoon of melted cheese and several packets of tomatoe sauce. Black paste covering about 5 square cm on bottom of plate under Corn chips which I assume was beans. Couldn't eat it.

This is a must stay budget resort. Staff were amazing, 2 great big pools. Never had to wait for service, staff were always on hand. Rooms were clean, not overly big but big enough for 2 easily. Change Australian $$$ at reception at a great rate. Right on the beach which was handy although was a bit far from Kuta for us but may suit others.
