We stayed at the Stones for 5 nights with 2 babies. Kuta area isn't really kids friendly but it was nice location to walk to beach walk, shopping spots, restaurants or Legian beach. What we love most was swimming pool! It's huge beautiful pool and we enjoyed our time there everyday.

Foods was great, too. Breakfast had large selection from Western to Balinese style and we loved fresh fruit juice. Dinner and in-room dining were also breautiful.

Staff were very friendly and the room was new, nice and clean! We're happy that we chose pool view as it's beautiful view from balcony. I think kids centre was bit small and limited so kids can't stay too long but at least they have a room for kids to play.

As others said, traveling by taxi is bit time wasting but walking on uneven road wasn't really good for us with kids either. Overall, we love this hotel and think good value. Would recommend to anyone who goes to Bali and would love to go back if we plan to explore Kuta/Legian area. I loved Ubud area more...

I think an overall of the hotel is good, a room is nice and clean. A hotel breakfast is not quit delicious when compared with other 5 stars hotel. A taste is too much Indonesia taste and most of food are consist of herb ingredient.

Room Tip: A hotel is in a good location, it is just 15 minutes from the hotel to shopping area by taxi. At the...

We stayed at the Stones Hotel for the last two nights of our Bali visit after 5 nights in Ubud and 4 nights in Amed. Our other hotels and locations were so great that the Stones and Kuta were a bit of a letdown.

First of all the location is at the northern end of Kuta beach and not really Legian. Our driver had to backtrack south towards Kuta, because he was headed towards Legian and the streets are mostly one way. The entrance is set quite far back from the main road with obligatory security checks. The open air lobby is quite stylish and our room wasn't quite ready since we arrived before check in time. We were given an ice cream bar as a welcome treat, but no offer of any other refreshment while waiting for our room. We decided to head out to lunch at Beachwalk Mall instead of waiting around. After 5 days on the deserted beaches of Amed, it was quite a change to see the hustle and bustle of Kuta. Kuta beach itself is great to watch the sunset and the crowds watching the surfers.

When we returned we were given a corner room facing the pool. Entering directly into the bathroom is quite unusual, but it does give it an open feeling. The hotel is quite new, so the furnishings are modern and internet acces was the fastest we experienced in Bali. Everything was clean but slightly cramped. The bathtub on the balcony is unusual as well, but not very useful.

We had the buffet breakfast the next day, which offered a large choice of different foods although none of the dishes were particularly memorable. Even the fresh fruit juices were not that great. Since we were tired we decided to spend most of the day at the hotel. Lunch was at the same downstairs restaurant as breakfast serving western and asian dishes. My wife enjoyed her stir fried beef and my nachos were ok. Prices were expensive for Bali, but average for an upscale hotel.

In the evening we had a massage and facial as part of the spa package we reserved. The facilities were nice enough, but lacking anything to remind us that we were in Bali instead of any other upscale hotel in the world. Unfortunately after finishing our spa treatment we arrived too late to have dinner at any of the hotel restaurants and had room service instead. Late night room service consisted of boxed salad and a sandwich. It was fine since we were hungry and tired and also quite reasonably priced.

Checkout early the next day was efficient and we only had to wait a few minutes for a taxi to take us to the airport. On a Saturday morning it was only 20 minutes without traffic. Overall our stay and the service was not the romantic experience the Stones claims to offer, and lacking any sort of boutique resort feeling like the Renaissance in Phuket which is a similar price. If you are a Marriott Rewards member I would recommend that property instead for a beach side property in SE Asia. For a romantic getaway in Bali I would highly recommend staying away from the chain hotels and heading to Ubud or Amed instead.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the pool tend to be noisier during the daytime

We stayed here for over a week in October/November time and it was a good choice for our relaxing break. We arrived in the early evening and checked in smoothly and quickly with a great first impression. The security checks are thorough and the staff are so lovely. The hotel itself is beautiful, very modern and luxurious.
We were on the third floor with a pool view room, it was very spacious with a lovely balcony. We really loved the room. It was comfortable modern luxury which we loved.
The food in the hotel was fantastic for every meal, we had breakfast included which had a great selection. We also ate here for lunch a few times and dinner. Each time we had food here it was excellent.
The pool was lovely, we never struggled to get a lounger and loved that most of them were in the pool, was a lovely place to relax.
It is right across the road from the beach which was great for surfing. It is in a good location as its not a far walk from the busy area of Kuta and its also not far from shops and restaurants. Other areas are easy to reach from this point and Taxi's will be called to the hotel for you and are very very cheap.
We did try out the Spa within the hotel, for a five star hotel the treatments were very good value. We spent 3 hours each in the spa for about £80. We had the balinese massage which was great... especially the the next day we both felt wonderful. At the time, it was pretty rough and that was with a medium pressure would suggest going for light. The spa's in the surrounding area are much cheaper than this but the actual surroundings in the hotel are much nicer, more professional and relaxing which is why I would be more inclined to have treatments here. I also had one of the facials which was great, my skin was much better after the treatment.
Each evening there was also entertainment by the bar, we would have a few drinks here before going out. There was a man and women who would sing and play guitar and they really were excellent. Very talented with good mix of songs, was a nice atmosphere down by the pool especially on the nights they were performing.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly go back. The staff were truly lovely, the hotel was excellent in what it offered and it really was beautiful to relax in all day!

Room Tip: Definitely go for a pool view! We were room 335 which had the reception down stairs to the right han...

Hotel is fantastic very clean! Staff very friendly, plenty of security! Rooms kept so clean even get a nightly service where they close your curtains put lamps on and a bottle of water next to bed!
Very pricey pool bar the equivalent of what you pay in oz for drinks plus everything then has 20% taxes on top of it! Pool closed at 8 so not a very good atmosphere.
At times after having shower the condensation in the bathroom made the bathroom floor very slippery! My husband slipped once in shower and once on bathroom floor!
Excellent location!
Breakfast is totally fantastic could not fault that! So many different choices and all so yum! Room service menu not so good not much of a choice compared to other places!
Great gym!

Breakfast is amazing here with plenty of range

The pool is beautiful but is hard to get a chair in the sun. Would recommend getting down there early or putting towels on chairs before breakfast like most people do

Rooms are big and modern with a nice bed. The rooms which have the pool/spa outside are way too cold to swim in and never get sun.

Location is near Kuta beach. It doesn't have a view of the beach but you can easily walk up and down the beach to Kuta central and Legian

We will be back!
