Contrary to some other reviews, we actually had a wonderful experience at The Stones hotel! First, we arranged hotel pickup, and the driver was polite, and even explained the city to us as we drove to the hotel. Upon arrival, the helpful reception staff helped us to confirm our cruise for the next day, and after finding out we were there for an anniversary, we were surprised in the room with a cake, and rose petals. Breakfast is delicious, and there are many choices for pretty much everyone. We stayed in a pool view room, which has awesome views of the pool. I lost a pair of nice sunglasses, and the hotel staff were able to find them and return them to me very quickly.

The hotel is in a good location right across from the beach, and not far from shopping. We were a little disturbed by some obnoxious guests / neighbors, but that was no fault of the hotel's, and did not dampen our stay. If I come back I will definitely stay here again!

The minute you drive up to the hotel, you know their number one priority are the guests. The security searched our taxi and the cute lab sniffed around the car. Once you get to the lobby area, you are greeted with cold towels and popsicles. The metal detector is a little awkward at first but you realize that they are doing it to protect the guests.
Check-in was a breeze and they personally escort you up to your room and show you around. Initially my husband had booked a regular room but they were able to upgrade us to a poolside room within minutes and have our luggage transferred.
Laying by the pool, the staff walks around offering cold towels, cold misting, fresh fruit, etc. The pool is huge and there are plenty of spots around the pool so you can find your perfect spot. The cabanas are first come (I believe) and you only have spend $25 on food and drink for the whole day.
Breakfast: mind blown! They had everything you could possibly want no matter where you are from or how picky you are.
Being one of the newest hotels and a Marriott hotel, I would say it is by far the nicest and most luxurious in the area. I can't wait to go back!!

Room Tip: Poolside rooms have a balcony with a couch and jacuzzi tub.

Although still new and a bit quiet when we stayed, just amazing! Very friendly staff, really appreciated the guided tour on arrival. Brilliant food (ate at the poolside restaurant 4 times). The sign at breakfast read "who says you can't eat icecream for breakfast" I was a bit surprised but gave in! This was just a small part of the simply amazing breakfast offered. Have stayed in Marriott hotels several times in many locations and they just seem to get it right everywhere! Well done - highly recommend it!

Room Tip: stayed on the ground floor room with plunge pool

WOW... I was recommended this hotel by a friend and it was everything she described and much more. The breakfast was the besti have ever had anywhere in the world... Widest selection...even ice cream! Fresh squeezed juices, eggs any way, fresh and an enormous selection. Nothing ws too much trouble and the Taff went above and beyond! Whilst sitting by the gorgeous pool staff came round with free fruit skewers, juices, sun glass cleaning, cookies! Felt so spoilt. Rooms were clean and new. Security was terrific andyo always felt safe. There were bean bags and hammocks to laze by the pool on and banana lounges in the water. Only down side was my son left his watch on the side table as we left and when I called hotel only 10 mins after we left they said it hadn't been found by housekeeping :( never the less I would definitely recommend this hotel and have already done so! Keep up the amazing customer service and extremely high standards! PS: day spa treatment was also out of this works def try if you go to Stones!

Me and my family enjoyed our New Year's stay at The Stones very much, which we found to be a great value for money as compared to the options we could have in other hotels. Hotel staff was courteous and tried their best to make stay comfortable (especially of the staff named Altaf). Breakfast was great with a fantastic choice. My sons loved the ice cream options for breakfast ! The hotel is truly magnificent. Big spacious and clean room. Everyone in my family loves the pool, it is beautiful. Overall the hotel and its services was excellent. We feel that we made the right decision to spent our holiday times/new year in Bali with the hotel. And we would happily recommend the hotel to any family. Great hotel, great staff and a great time ! Will try to be back to enjoy the hospitality of The Stones and your staff in hopefully July this year. Thank you very much !

Room Tip: Deluxe Pool with balcony is a best room - high floor

I booked this hotel months ago once I confirmed my points flights to Bali and reading the article in Sydney Morning Herald.
What a wonderful experience from the time of arrival to check out.
Luigi at check in was so helpful, the cool towel was a pleasant surprise.
Upgraded to a pool view balcony room and it was to die for, room 557, crisp clean inviting.
View of the spectacular pool, the balcony with private bathtub lounge to relax.
The room attire and accessories were plentiful and the much appreciated free 2 bottles of water per day.
All the staff were pleasant happy, any enquiry was dealt with immediately.
The little surprises sitting at the pool the juice lady, the skewered fruit sticks, sunglasses cleaner, refreshing face spray - all these added touches relaxing by a beautifully presented pool.
Breakfast buffet included in room rate sensational and the variety of food and drinks to please anyones pallette, as well as really good cappacinos.
The hustle and bustle of Kuta / Legian was left at the front street, yet if one wanted to shop, dine, walk it was at the doorstep of the hotel.
Would definately stay at The Stones Legian again and I have been travelling to Bali since 1980.
Great value for money especially receiving an upgrade.

Room Tip: When making reservation ring direct and ensure the upgrade request is in your email confirmation, pr...

From the moment my daughter & I arrived we were treated like royalty.

Check in staff - especially Dewi & Reevo were very courteous and professional and welcome ice treat was appreciated after arriving in the mid afternoon heat.

A nice touch was being personally escorted to our room by staff.

Room was spacious and great balcony (we opted for a no bathtub on balcony) overlooking magnificent pool.

Restaurant staff were amazing and greeted us by name every day - breakfast had something for everyone including breakfast shots of local health tonic and coffee any way you wanted it.

Special mention must go to the pool butlers who looked after our food & drink orders while we lazed in the pool cabana (there is a minimum spend) but well worth it. They even walk around the pool with fruit skewers , face spritzer, and a backpack style drink dispenser giving out samples of fruity special of the day.

Security was tight, but this is very reassuring.

Would definitely recommend The Stones and will stay there again.

Room Tip: Pool view room on levels 2 - 5.
