“good hotel”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

i stayed for one night at this hotel, they have great design on swimming pool and lobby. They have small pool for jacuzzi which makes it eve better. Room was okay, modern design, comfy bed but not for their pillows ( should consider some upgrade ), separated shower chambers and toilets but they do not provide buth tub unless for swim pool view rooms ( consider to choose this room, bath tub is on balcony an dits only $500 price difference ). Locations bit at the end of Kuta beach so its bit far to access Hard Rock or Beachwalk.

Room Tip: Choose room with swim pool view, they have bath tub in balcony with beautiful view or on ground floo...

The Stones is a great hotel if you want to enjoy a resort hotel in the middle of Legian/Kuta There is a little confusion as to where it's location is - the locals insist it's in Kuta while hotel staff confirm it's Legian - either way it's the same hotel.

Walking into the spacious and ope air lobby, you get a good feel for the overall resort with it's large grounds and pool area. The resort is expansive with the biggest pool I have seen in Bali.
Staff are all very friendly and helpful and check-in is a breeze.

The rooms are well appointed but strangely set up with guests walking into the open plan bathroom and then into the room - a little odd. It also means that all your bathroom amenities etc are in plain sight of everyone and not closed away behind a bathroom door.

The large balcony is great with a bathtub - with a privacy screen and a wonderful view of the entire resort and pool.

The restaurant offers a wonderful breakfast with freshly squeezed juices you can request as well as the usual array o local and western cuisine. Staff are again very eager to be of service and very friendly. Many of the local wait staff are keen to know our name and where you're from.

The gym is open 24/7 and is well equipped and clean. The only down side is there's no view and the blinds are always closed.

The hotel is a short walk from all the hustle and bustle of the bars, shopping and local dining as well as right across from the beach - although the beach needs attention as there's lots of rubbish around.

If you want to stay in the Kuta/Legian area this is a great hotel and highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms have a balcony and overlook the pool.

After five consecutive visits to the Patra Jasa, wanted to try a newer property in the Kuta/Legian area. You cannot go wrong with the Stones because it's new, fresh and pleasant with a huge pool in the middle and the beach just across the road.

Were welcomed by an excellent guy at the reception, Mr Reevo, and although the hotel was almost full, he took his time to show us around 2-3 rooms before we found the one we liked most for our two-week stay. Later on we found out how good all the Stones staff are, very well-trained and seemingly eager to help their guests - and very efficient especially at breakfast when the restaurant was usually full between 8:45 and 10 am.

We liked the modern room & the roomy balcony, the varied breakfast, the gym, the pool and the lovely staff at the Stones. Moreover, the guest mix was very pleasant with a true international feel, the sounds of different languages at breakfast were simply great!

If you want a more Balinese experience (decor and feel) as well as direct access to the beach, this may not be your first choice. Nothing at the Stones actually indicates that you are in Bali except for one religious ceremony arranged in the lobby one day - otherwise the design, decor, staff uniforms, background music in the public areas etc. are just modern. We, however, went to Ubud for a week and felt we had the best of both worlds: a new hotel in Legian within a 15-minute walk to central Kuta and later on a Balinese experience in Ubud with Balinese design, rice fields and the sounds of nature around. A great combination, if you have time.

The Stones Hotel in Legian was amazing!! One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! from arriving to leaving the staff there was absolutely so amazing and so so friendly, nothing was an issue for them. Our room was spacious, very modern which I loved and was cleaned every single day while we were out. the breakfast was outstanding!!!! The hotel was in a good area and was close to everything! I actually don't have one bad thing to say about this Hotel, definitely will be staying there next time!

3 reasons for the 5 star rating: First, awesome staff! They are very helpful polite and have a great sense of humor. That is what I really miss in Asia. We met Echo the bar man which is so attentive and a really nice guy, Ayu and Chef Nyoman that always treat us so so special and Dwi, Luigi, Daylan( who found my phone :-D ), Siwi and Baron in the reception area which very helpful. And the rest of the staff was really wonderful. Second, our room in 5th floor (559) is a really good location, away from noise of other customer and screaming kids, good view too and the bed is so comfortable. They don't have enough closet but we're not bothered since we just stayed for one week. Third, the food is really good. You can really see the 5star quality from the presentation to the taste of it and prices are not that bad. I highly recommended this hotel.

Pleasant stay, friendly staff, very nice showers-two shower heads- in the rooms. Lot of security everywhere--x-ray machine before check in.

Viva Essentials: Breakfast is not free, good wi-fi, and the fitness center--best one i've seen in a long time and open 24/7.
Ad Nauseam: Location is in Legian bali--it's not exactly a quick walk to the beach either, across the road from the busy main drag. If you're here for shopping/nighlife, you're good. For surfing, I'd go somewhere else.

Bon Appétit
