“Best hotel so far”
Reviewed 16 July 2011

This was my fifth trip to Bali and first time staying at Bali Niksoma. My expectations were high due to the price, but it proved to be all worth it. I travelled with family members who were on their first trip to Bali. They loved it too!
Hidden in small alley way off Jalan Padma Utara and resting practically on Legian beach we found the hotel to be clean, neat with the friendliest staff. A beautiful lobby leading to an assortment of rooms and villas with beautiful water features along the way. By far our Superior room had the best view of all the rooms in the beach resort. We had a view of the infinaty pool and beach. Ask for room 111 for the best view.
The room was clean and traditional. The old superior rooms have the original balinese doors leading to a huge balcony which had the best view of Legian beach. The only downfall was the bathroom which needs a bit of an upgrade. Daily cakes delivered by night staff during their rounds to turn down beds was a bonus.
The grounds were beautifully kept and clean as were the 3 pools. Make sure you get to the pool early to bag a deck chair or gazebo for the day. In the afternoon the staff put on free 'high tea' for guests which comprise of fresh fruit, juices, tea/coffee and cakes. A perfect way to spend the afternoon by the pool with fruit and cocktails.
Every Monday the management staff invite long staying guests to join them in a free cocktail party to meet staff and other guests. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a variety of breaky foods available. Food at the hotels restaurant Hitana was reasonably priced with daily 2 for 1 cocktail specials a must have while watching the sun set on the deck and time pass by. Restaurants near by also proved to be worth a visit. Mozzarella by the sea a mere 5 metres from the hotel offered a range of Indonesian and global food as well as live music. A stroll down the beach road you will stumble on some fabulous restaurants in Seminyak which were always busy with tourists. Back on Jl Padma Utara you will find an abundance of Aussie bars (for those AFL and NRL footy fans) as well as some great restaurants. Try the Indo National for great service and food.
Don't forget to hop in a blue bail taxi and take a ride into Jl Legian Kuta for more amazing restaurants and night life. The Niksoma hosts a traditional Balinese Dance night with a full seafood buffet. I highly recommend the show and buffet but make sure you book early to get the best seats.
I would recommend this hotel for families and couples wanting to stay somewhere quiet, safe and central to Legian. I would definitely return in a heartbeat.

Dear njjolly,
First of all, on behalf of the team members of Bali Niksoma, I would like to express my highest gratitude for your recent stay with us and for sharing your wonderful experience. We are honored as you finally chose to stay at Bali Niksoma after your four trips to Bali previously. I am also delighted to know that you will definitely return to Bali Niksoma. You were very lucky upon arrival to be assigned in room 111 as it has its best position amongst other rooms in the resort. Within couple of months the rooms on this floor will have an upgraded bathroom as what were done to rooms underneath. In line with our commitment to provide more value added benefits to our guests, a "high tea" has been offered since May 2011 and is served every Wednesday and Friday afternoon. It is great that you managed the time to join our Monday long-staying guests cocktail. I am grateful that you enjoyed the happy hours cocktail and dinner at Hitana restaurant as well as the Balinese Dance Night which is staged every Sunday. Trust you also had an indulging evening at Mozzarella by the sea restaurant of Maharta Bali Hotel located next to Bali Niksoma which is also managed by Bali Niksoma.
All team members of Bali Niksoma and Mozzarella by the sea restaurant look forward to welcoming you again in the not too distant future.

Travelled to Bali for a wedding. The rest of the party decided to stay next door at the Jayakarta...they obviously don't use Tripadvisor.

It turned out to be a great decision to stay at the Niksoma?, it really is the best Hotel in that area. The rest are overcrowded and completely run down. The ratio of Bintang singlet wearers is also higher, if you know what I mean.

Rooms are good, service is excellent. The restaurant is really nice, so is Mozarella restaurant next door. The pools are very well maintained, never crowded and there is always a lounge or 2 available, with 2 for 1 cocktails all day, overlooking the surf.

Loved this place, and if I ever stayed in Legian again, I'd head straight back to the Niksoma.

We stayed in Bali Niksoma for only one night, with our one year old son, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Staff, hotel room, dining, pool and overall ambience are all A+

Room Tip: A room upgrade was offered to us upon arrival-

After originally booking a different hotel in the area we were unhappy and found that the Niksoma was the only hotel available for our stay. I used Booking.com and got a great deal - 50% discount on standard room rate. When we checked in they were reception staff were so apologetic but they were sorry but they would have to upgrade us to a junior suite at no extra charge as the room we had booked on line were no longer available. As it was our 20th wedding anniversary we wanted to stay somewhere a bit specical and this certainly ticked all boxes - especially when we got to our room which had rose petals in the shape of a heart on our bed with a beautiful bouquet, fruit platter and heart shaped chocolate cake. It was just the little things that made this stay so perfect........fresh fruit in the afternoons by the pool, afternoon tea and cakes by the pool.
The staff were so attentive and polite and I would go back there tomorrow - simply wonderful. If there was one complaint it was the water being too hot or too cold and the drains not clearing quickly - but hey it's Bali and if little things like that bother you then stay at home!

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful place. Only a walkway separates the Niksoma from the beach at Legian and from this path many good restaurants are only a few minutes walk. It's the little things that the very friendly, ever smiling staff do that makes this hotel a really enjoyable place to stay. A fresh fruit plate was brought around every afternoon as we sat by the pools and the Cocktail evening and the afternoon teas for guests were also delightful! Rooms were a good size too! Didn't use the day spa at hotel but If you wanted to shop or go for a manicure, there were also plenty of Day Spas and all of sorts of shops out the front of the driveway. The Hotel is hidden away from the main road and is like an oasis. Good breakfast and view over beach. Overall a quiet, relaxing hotel with staff doing their best to make your stay perfect,

Room Tip: of 57 rooms 1st flr good but no view from balcony

Stayed here for 2 nights prior to our wedding and had a great time. Agree that rooms are a bit dated but the rest of the place is fantastic. The pool area and view are amazing and the quiet street front make for a very relaxing stay.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast buffet had a number of great options.

Would definitely recommend this to couples or groups of adults looking for a relaxing stay.

Did seem a bit expensive though in comparison to the rest of Bali.
